Cd dvd combo drive (by 2 users)

To Whom It May Concern:
I have an acer ferrari 3400 and the burner does not read some dvd discs and does not burn most of them which are compatible, why? gives message some what; calibration error, etc. what does this mean? I realize my warranty has expired by now. Suggestions are appreciated, thank you!

WizCan you be more specific about which error messages you are getting? This is important because it will tell us whether the laser or motor is burned out, or if you are just being stopped by copy protection.
