my daughter plugged a 9 volt charger in to my archos av 700 by mistake .it worked afterwards allthough the chargeing light never came on .i tried to turn it on this morning and its dead even if i plug the charer in it does not light up can anyone tell me where i can get it fixed i live in northampton thanks

- I tried a 9 volt adapter(by mistake,the adapter seemed so small,never considered it to more than 4.5volt) to charge the archos AV 700 100 gb.In the beginning it started charging.within 2mins the screen went dark and everything went off.After that I have never been able to bring the power back.I purchased a new battery but that didn't do any good.I tried usb connection and a car charger with no goodluck.if possible IMME @ mmhr2005@yahoo.com

You will need to replace the mains board which Archos will do - it costs £75 or therabouts - contact Archos through their website - it is best to have registered the Archos first as you will need a return number for them to repair your Archos. maureen
