Accuwave DS Clock

I have a Howard Miller Accuwave DS atomic clock but don't have the manual. I tried pushing the "receive" button to update the time, but it does not reset the time back 1 hour for daylight savings time (PST). How do I set the clock for the time? I thought I just push the button and it sets itself. After I push it, the little radar symbol comes on and it appears to be receiving, but nothing happens. There's a small pin hole in the back of the clock that says "reset", should I use a pin and push it?

Thanks for any help!

Mitch

I took the battery out for 1 minute, replaced a new battery in the clock and placed the clock outside in the back yard to get a stronger signal. After leaving it poutside for a few hours, it reset itself to the correct time!

    Thanks for the help!

Does anyone know how to set the Howard Miller Accuwave clocks to Hawaii Standard Time or is it not possible? We recently moved to the islands and I would love to be able to still use this clock. Any ideas?

Push the Adjust and Set buttons together and hold until it beeps, then press set to move through the various areas of the clock (hours, minutes, date, etc.) and press set when satisfied with each. Mine is also stuck in Pacific and it is the only thing I cannot change :(

The radio may not be able to get a strong enough or clear enough signal to process (night is best away from TV, computers and radios).  To regain "control" of the clock, take the battery out, wait 30 seconds and then reinstall it.  This will reset the clock.  You can then manually set the clock.
Press SET for a few seconds until the hour starts flashing in the display.  Then press the ADJUST button to set the hour.  Press SET to move to the different functions (Hour -> Minutes -> Seconds-> Month -> Date -> Year) each time using the ADJUST button to correct the setting.  Finally press MODE to exit the setting mode.
If the time zone is incorrect for your area (default is PST), press MODE to enter the Alarm Time Mode; then press SET to flip through the time zones; then press MODE again to exit.
The little "reset" is for use if the LCD display doesn't come on when the battery is changed. It doesn't affect any of the clock settings per se.

I need to find a manual for my Howard Miller clock so I can set it up.

First of all, here is the main Howard Miller Online Support and Download page with the links to the instruction manuals for all their clock models:

http://www.howardmiller.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/GenericView1?langId=-1&storeId=12652&catalogId=13551#floorclock_inst

And here is a direct link to the ONLINE USER'S MANUAL for the Radio Controlled Clock model:

http://store.howardmiller.com/wcsstore/HowardMillerPublicSite/Attachment/625236_PD10727.pdf

To view the Support Page or the Owner's Manual with Operating Instructions just use your mouse to click on the link, which is the underlined and highlighted text just above. This will open a new web browser page automatically for you and allow you to view the information at the website indicated and the contents of the Owner's Manual.

You may need ADOBE READER installed on your computer to read PDF documents.
You can download this free at WWW.ADOBE.COM if necessary.
Click on the DOWNLOAD ADOBE READER button on right side of the ADOBE home page when you get there, the follow the onscreen instructions to install the software on your computer.

Please comment back here to this page if you have any details to add, have any questions, have difficulty accessing the links, or just require further general assistance and I will respond as soon as I see it.

Thank you very much and good luck.

Joe.

I can't set the clock. The hands keep turning and

Look at the bottom right of the back of the clock and find the "M Set" button. Simply hold it down and the clock will move (very slowly). When it gets to the correct time, let go of the button. After that, the radio controlled shoul dcontrol should correct any minor differences in time.

Changing the time

you can go to http://www2.oregonscientific.com/assets/manuals2/bar338pa.pdf to see or print the user's manual.

If you don't want to get the manual, here's what you do to fix it. . . . .
*note: you need to do this anytime you change the batteries.

1) open the battery cover
2) on the left side you'll see 3 little buttons labeled a)zone, b)C/F c)reset
3) push the reset
4)push the zone button until your time zone is highlighted on the front display
5) look at the front display & if you see a blinking "radio signal" icon at upper left of time numerals
don't do anything else. The time, date, etc. will automatically synchronize your clock with the US Atomic Clock. This could take up to 10 minutes. As long as the "radio signal" icon is blinking, it's working on it. When the icon doesnt' blink, it's set. Cool, huh?
6) if the area you live in can't receive the signal from the Atomic Clock, instead of a blinking "radio signal", you'll see just a bare antennae. Since you probably set your clock manually, that's what it shows now before you do anything.
7) after you push reset & set the time zone do NOT touch any other buttons to set anything!!! (I know it's difficult to leave things alone, but just sit on your hands). Pushing the "clock" button or the up & down arrows will stop the radio signal & change to manual functions. Look at the signal icon mentioned in 5) and 6) above. If you only have the bare antennae icon. . . . . go ahead & set the time/date yourself. You have no signal.

Enjoy your clock!
