Accuwave DS Clock

By mchoy on Nov 02, 2008

I have a Howard Miller Accuwave DS atomic clock but don't have the manual. I tried pushing the "receive" button to update the time, but it does not reset the time back 1 hour for daylight savings time (PST). How do I set the clock for the time? I thought I just push the button and it sets itself. After I push it, the little radar symbol comes on and it appears to be receiving, but nothing happens. There's a small pin hole in the back of the clock that says "reset", should I use a pin and push it?

Thanks for any help!

- I took the battery out for 1 minute, replaced a new battery in the clock and placed the clock outside in the back yard to get a stronger signal. After leaving it poutside for a few hours, it reset itself to the correct time!

Thanks for the help!

-   Does anyone know how to set the Howard Miller Accuwave clocks to Hawaii Standard Time or is it not possible? We recently moved to the islands and I would love to be able to still use this clock. Any ideas?

The radio may not be able to get a strong enough or clear enough signal to process (night is best away from TV, computers and radios).  To regain "control" of the clock, take the battery out, wait 30 seconds and then reinstall it.  This will reset the clock.  You can then manually set the clock.
Press SET for a few seconds until the hour starts flashing in the display.  Then press the ADJUST button to set the hour.  Press SET to move to the different functions (Hour -> Minutes -> Seconds-> Month -> Date -> Year) each time using the ADJUST button to correct the setting.  Finally press MODE to exit the setting mode.
If the time zone is incorrect for your area (default is PST), press MODE to enter the Alarm Time Mode; then press SET to flip through the time zones; then press MODE again to exit.
The little "reset" is for use if the LCD display doesn't come on when the battery is changed. It doesn't affect any of the clock settings per se.
