Logitech wireless keyboard and mouse (ex 100) won't connect

I am trying to install logitech ex 100 cordless keyboard and mouse to use with my Dell Laptop. I have xp operating system.
When I plugged in the receiver, the computer recognized it and then said it was installed.
I have tried multiple times to connect, first starting with pressing the button on usb receiver then the mouse. The mouse then works. When I press the receiver button to connect to the keyboard, the mouse quits operating and the keyboard will not connect at all.
I purchased these product new this last week. I am using the new batteries that came with them.

The mouse and keyborard have to be in direct view of the reciever. Even a small obstruction will effect the operation

Use the secured keyboard connection you have to push a combination of keys then a 16 digit code but then your keyboard should work

SOURCE: Logitech cordless keyboard 3100 not working

the problem with cordles keyboards is that the transmitter/receiver works via usb and sometimes the driver does not have time to load for the system to start leaving it dissabled, the reason for this is whts called IRQ interupt requests. Some usb ports get left to the back of the queue when requesting that they need to start up, so unfortunately this is a common fault and may be sorted by trying the keyboard in different usb ports and moving any other peripheralls to different ones, although you will have to reinstall all the drivers as you will be using different ports, so install the keyboard first and then it may get an IRQ of 1 which means 'start me first'

What is logitech 810-000755 used for or what does it do

810-000755 is the part number for the Logitech C-bt44 USB receiver for the Logitech Cordless Desktop EX 100. See http://support.logitech.com/en_us/product/cordless-desktop-ex-100-product/faq#link_19321 . This is the section of the FAQ on using the EX 100 with other USB receivers. The receiver lets select Logitech wireless keyboards and mice communicate with the computer that has this device plugged in. The 810-000755 also works with the Logitech cordless desktop (keyboard/mice) EX 110, and the MK 300. There may be other keyboards and mice that communicate with this receiver. However, newer Logitech keyboards and desktops (keyboard/mice) may not use this receiver.

I hope this helps. Note: the EX 100 uses 2 alkaline AA batteries in the keyboard and 2 alkaline AA batteries in the mouse to communicate with the receiver. I believe the other keyboards and desktops that can communicate with the 810-000755 also use alkaline batteries which last ~6 months before they must be replaced.

As I remember it, the EX 100 was plug and play on my XP PC. The batteries are NOT a problem - as they check OK. I periodically have both mouse and keyboard FREEZE After restarting XP computer everything...

Connect an additional wired keyboard to your pc. And when the freeze happens check if the pc responds at all, using the wired keyboard. If its not responding , its an indication of a faulty PSU or motherboard.

Logitech ex 100 mouse doesn't work

Normal 0 Turn the mouse over and find the small rest/connect button on the bottom of the mouse and press it to Reset/Connect the mouse to the receiver and work properly.
If not, try pressing the receiver button and then press the mouse. This should be done whenever you change batteries or glitch.
Hope this helps you. Bud

LOGITECH KEYBOARD AND MOUSE

Gken, assuming your new mouse and keyboard are USB go into the BIOS of your PC and check if USB mouse and USB keyboard are enabled. If not, enable them, that would fix the problem.

kiratae, have you tried using XP drivers for that mouse? According to logitech the v220 is certified for vista, did you plug in the little USB receiver?
