Bluetooth Hello! I´m trying to establish a bluetooth connection between a HTC Touch Diamond and Active Sync on my computer. Using the micro adapter 523 from Sitecom. Streaming sound to my Stereo or using th Touch diamond as a panserver no problem. The same comports on both the computer and the HTC. The Active sync connection doesn´t turn up on the bluetooth program as it should so I can´t match it with the phone why? yours sincerely Bengt Mattsson, Stockholm Sweden

The active sync works now via bluetooth! But I can´t sen large files with Active sync via usb. A couple of days ago I could easily do it by right click on the file and and then just point at "send to my unit" it worked perfekt but this icon doesn´t appearer any longer. Copy and paste and drop and drag doen´t funktion. What to do? I´m using HTC Touch Diamond and XP sp3

First try performing a system restore to a recent date before you started having the problem. This usually is enough to fix the problem.

To perform system restore see the following link.

How to perform System Restore on Windows

If that still does not work, then you will need to reinstall both HTC Touch Diamond software and active synch on your computer.

Keep tapping the "Refresh" button until the "AcitiveSync" check box shows up on the list of servies. Once it does, check that checkbox and the press the "OK" button on the top right corner.

6. INITIATE the ActiveSync connection from the PDA!
INSTRUCTIONS: On your PDA go to START=>PROGRAMS=>ACTIVESYNC=>MENU=>CONNECT VIA BLUETOOTH. Then
the "Cannot find an existing Bluetooth partnership with a PC that supports Activesync. Would you like to set up a partnership
now?" MIGHT pop up. At that point select YES or OK and then select the partnership with the PC that you have establised.

BLUETOOTH ACTIVESYNC SHOULD NOW FUNCTION CORRECTLY.

Let me know if you guys have any luck. Also, note that with the custom bluetooth software that a lot of you have on your PCs and DO NOT have the "Bluetooth Devices" option in their Control Panel, the PROCEDURE is the same but the TERMINOLOGY and LOCATION of those options may be different.
thanks

    Preliminary steps

    1. Make the device ActiveSync® with the computer using USB first. This form of ActiveSync must behave perfectly before attempting to ActiveSync via Bluetooth®.
    2. Confirm the computer is Windows XP SP2, the version T-Mobile supports for Bluetooth ActiveSync:

      1. Click Start, Run.
      2. Enter: winver and click OK.
      3. Read the Windows version in the pop-up box.

Configuration on the Windows XP Service Pack 2 computer

    1. Right click the Bluetooth icon in the Windows System Tray and select Advanced configuration.
    2. Select the Local Service tab and take note of what COM port corresponds to the Bluetooth Serial Port. It is usually COM 5, 6 or 7.

      • NOTE: If not Bluetooth Serial Port is present, the PC is not properly configured for a Bluetooth ActiveSync. Consult the vendor of the Bluetooth hardware.

    3. Click Cancel to exit.
    4. Right click the ActiveSync icon in the Windows System Tray and select Connection Settings.
    5. Select the check box labeled Allow Serial cable or infrared connection to this COM port.
    6. Select the COM port corresponding to the Bluetooth Serial Port in the service configuration noted earlier.
    7. Click OK.
    8. Right click the ActiveSync icon again and select Open Microsoft ActiveSync.
    9. Click the Options button.
    10. Select the schedule as Upon connection.

    On the device:

    1. Select Start, ActiveSync, Menu, Connect via Bluetooth.
    2. A message says:'Cannot find an existing Bluetooth partnership...'. Select Yes to setup a partnership.
    3. Select Menu, New.
    4. Select the computer.

      • NOTE: if the computer does not appear as a Bluetooth device, restart Bluetooth on the computer.

    5. Press Next.
    6. Enter a passkey (such as "1234") to establish a secure connection.
    7. Press Next.
    8. Type the same passkey on the computer (if applicable).
    9. Press OK to complete partnership.
    10. Change the display name if desired.
    11. Press Next.
    12. Ensure the ActiveSync service is selected.

      • NOTE: if the ActiveSync service is not seen as an option, Bluetooth is not configured properly on the PC and T-Mobile will not be able to offer technical assistance to fix this problem.

    13. Press Done to return to ActiveSync screen.
    14. Select Menu, Connect via Bluetooth.
    15. Observe the computer to see if the ActiveSync icon becomes green, indicating a connection

    1) On your computer, go into bluetooth settings. Check bluetooth is ON and set to discoverable. Add an incoming COM port, eg. COM5.
    2) On ActiveSync on your computer, go into connection settings. Tick all the boxes. If the COM port is greyed out, untick it, close the settings box, go back in, now tick it and set the COM port to eg. COM5.
    3) On the K Jam go into bluetooth settings, and remove the connection to your computer.
    4) On your K Jam go into ActiveSync, click 'menu' > 'connect via bluetooth' then you should see a message saying 'cannot find an existing bluetooth partnership with a PC that supports ActiveSync. Would you like to set up a partnership now?'
    5) Click YES - you are taken to the Bluetooth settings screen.
    6) Now click 'new partnership. As soon as you do this, the K Jam will search, and as long as your computer has bluetooth discoverable turned on, your computer will eventually be displayed. Check the computer name showing on the K Jam is the same as the name you gave the bluetooth profile on your computer.
    7) On K Jam, click your computer name then NEXT.
Now enter a passcode - any four digit number (remember it) then next
    9) When you do this, your computer will pop up with a message saying "a bluetooth device is requesting authorisation". Open this message and type in the code that you gave the K Jam. The next screen on the computer will tell you that it was successful - click FINISH.
    10) Back on the K Jam, the screen will now be showing the services available. AS LONG AS YOU FOLLOWED STEP 1 and 2, ActiveSync will be an option, and you need to tick this and press FINISH on the K Jam.
    11) Close bluetooth settings, now in ActiveSync screen click MENU > Connect via bluetooth. Your ActiveSync program on the computer should eventually pop up and connect.

Hey, great to hear you got it to work.

I don't like sending big files over bluetooth, in my personal experience when sending a 2mb video
from my phone to another device the transfer took around 2 minutes. not sure what the speed is there but it can't be too fast..

I would suggest you transfer the file with cable or if your phone has a storage card, use a card reader to transfer the file easyly.

    also in your premium here
    http://www.fixya.com/support/t1198027-bl...

do you still see my solution? I would really appriciate it if you could accept my solution, but make sure you accept the correct solution, sometimes people somehow manage to accept a solution by another expert. So make sure when you accept that your accepting me, (ekse).

also if you need further help just add a comment on this page and Il answer the best I can.

    Thanks,

You need to manually move the file into the htc

when activesync connected. goto my computer, find the mobile device, browse inside it and find the folder where you want it saved.

I have got an htc touch diamond phone and i want to use internet on it and also want to connect to my pc but i dont have a software/hardware or cd. i have installed active sync. on my pc but the device...

if you have installed active sysnc then the device should connect. If it doesnt i would check in my computer to see if it is showing as connecte. Also when you connect the usb lead to the phone it should pop up a selection on the phone to how you want to connect make sure you choose active sync. the screen only appears for a few seconds then it will connect with the last selected option

Not really. You need the password to connect via active sync.

Everything on your SD car is saved if that makes you feel any better.

Unable to connect HTC P3300 via Active Sync.

if you are using XP,install ACTIVE SYNC 4.5. if you are using VISTA or WINDOWS 7, no need any sync software. plug in the HTC to your laptop. right click on MY COMPUTER and select MANAGE. in the window that appears now, on the left hand side select DEVICE MANAGER. now on the right hand side see if you have any yellow colour icons. if YES,try to update the drivers. if nothing works out, try another PHONE to connect and use your phone to connect to another laptop. atleast this will give some idea as where the problem lies
