Sounds like your panel might be going out or a faulty video card. This is the first time I have heard of a solid pink screen on a plasma. Usually this happens on LCDs, though they sometimes go white and stay white, which does signal a bad panel. tv needs repair
I'm not really sure what causes this but I might be able to help. I have an LG 42 plasma which had the same problem. In my case I removed the video and the tuner board (they both were mounted on the same frame which was screwed on the tv chassis) and installed them in a "wooden box" so that there would be no electrical contact with the rest of the chassis except from the cables connected to them. It now works fine.
not sure if this is the fix or not ...but i was tryin to fix a problem with my tv(not the same as yours)...but in the menu under adanced you can split the screen ....when i do that it puts a blue line down the middle of the screen

I just fixed my plasma with same looking problem. Mine is a 42PX11. Cost me $320.00 in parts from Fishwick Electonics. Replaced three circuit boards, crossed my fingers and turned it on and am happy to report it has been working fine since for about 6 months now.
I have seen several LG plasma that have a pink picture and everytime it has been a failed control pwb. This bd is located under the assembly that houses the main digital bd. The main dig. bd is the one with all of the inputs.
