Question about Whirlpool Gold GB2SHDXPS Stainless Steel

Popping sound Our refrigerator is brand new. It started making a serious popping sound constantly shortly after we went grocery shooping (like popcorn or buttons in the dryer). It wasn't empty before, and we only put in a small supply of groceries. It's 9:30 p.m. and I won't be able to sleep. HELP!

Re: popping sound

Karmakin, the popping you hear is probably the refrigerant entering the evaporator coils. Some are worse than others. You need to call for service since this is brand new. Sometimes they can insulate the cap tube going into the evap and the dryer to supress this noise. Best thing to do is call for back.

I have a ge top freezer refridgerator and the compressor is cycling constantly and it's not staying cold. Its a new fridge and hasn't been in use long. What would make it do this?

Hello Bradley Miller,

Loss of refrigerant charge... (serious trouble)

If it is NEW you need to jump on the seller right away...!!

Hope this helped!!

Comment me back if you are out of warranty!!

How To Install Bullet Piercing Valves To Charge Refrigerators Or Air...

OKAY... Sorry to hear about the FLOOD... Once you are sure everything has been dried... & IS clean

Click on my profile... my RECENT ANSWERS will come up... You need to focus on finding your defrost fault.. Also... we old folk call the "WD" in WD40... water displacement...

Take heart... electric issues caused by water can be fixed... Just might take TIME & FULL DISCLOSURE... of what we are REALLY working on.
You might also want to check all appliances...

Air drying is always best... use no heaters on your refrigerator (there ought to be one already
in there (carefully regulated to remain TEPID (soft plastic panels can easily be damaged with heat)).
General rule... never apply power to a wet circuit...!!

Okay... Whole different approach. We need to get the model number... then see if I can determine the low hanging circuit(s) to be a DEFROST TIMER or POWER CONTROL pack (circuit board)... (possibly more).

If power was applied wile anything was wet that can make thing a bit more complex (we'll just have to take notes)... otherwise it is clean possible to clean contacts... and check low circuits on heaters an/or dish-washers also.

Flooding can WILL cause corrosion (at least) and your defrost circuit MIGHT ALSO be on..
(running (shorted)).

The only impediments to finding out WHAT IS/IS-NOT working are the HAZADOUS VOLTAGES in the are we need to see... and a small fan that might also be in the condenser area.

You will need to take good pictures... so you can EVERY SCREW & WIRE exactly back where you found them.

Can you feel warmth in the freezer area?

Frigidaire refrigerator makes chugging sound

Hi - Generally speaking, it is normal for Frigidaire refrigerators to making a vibrating, snapping, dripping noises however not a chugging noise. From what you have described it sounds like it could POSSIBLY be the drain sucking in air or it could be refrigeration through the evaporator. A constant noise could indicate a serious problem with one or more components. This is a repair that should be left to a refrigerator service expert.

Maytag 21.9 Cu ft. Bottom-freezer made a loud pop sound and smells like electrical fire. What should we do (besides unplug it, which we did)?

The pop and smell are probably the capacitor blowing up...the refrigerator will not work until you get that replaced...

Refrigerator makes thumpa-thumpa-thumpa sound when it's running.

i would start saving up for a new fridge,,if yours is 10 years old its getting past its best by now so its realy not worth spending good money on trying to get it fixed up as its going to pop its clogs soon anyhow
a new one would be cheaper to run plus it would look nice so you could show it off to all your friends,,,
its like,,,eat your hart out i got a new fridge!!!

Maytag fridge has constant running water sound

you hear a constant running water sound? look in your manual under "normal operating sounds". it explains all of the sounds. it sounds like you're hearing the refrigerant going thru your evap. coil located behind the rear frzr panel. you unit goes into the defrost cycle roughly every 8hrs and water drip down into the condensate pan un the refrig.

My GE profile refrigerator makes a fan noise

Hello my name is Tim Ehrhart, it sounds like you may have a wire that is hitting the fan blade wich can be seriouse as if it shorts out it could catch fire. A trick to fix this is to take off the cover and make sure the fan is clear or all wires and everything else, if there are wires either tape them back, hot glue them or redirect them away from the fan. I hope this helps you out.
