When I flip my phone a high pitch noise comes out from somewhere around the keyboard. it does not happen always, and sometimes it lauder, sometimes it more quite. The noise is not very laud, but annoying. I thought it was a sim card, but it also happen when I was overseas and was using another sim card. It starts right after I open the phone before I even make a call. thanks! Lana

I don't know what whosing sounds like, but I have a high pitched whirring noise coming from my somewhere in the engine bay, my noise starts when the car starts and continues while driving, goes away at around 60 mph but will come back when I accelerate or decelerate, I have a friend that is a master tech at volkswagen, he suspects the alternator is making the noise, this is my first TDI, I bought it with 150k on it, I don't have any experience with TDI's, but am a Service Advisor, and it has been my general experience that all volkswagens are posessed! :) Always having some sort of electrical issue, Not sure if that will help.... Good Luck!
You can tell to some extent what it may be by listening carefully and trying to identify the location. If you, remove the back cover of the set; stay away from danger, just listen to where it seems like the sound is coming from. If it is coming from inside the high voltage cage it is the flyback. If coming from around the main power transformer it is one of the power supply parts.
most high pitch noise comes from the anode conection on the picture tube thats connected to the flyback anode cap thats mean there is a high voltage leak,to stop the noise you can discharge the high voltage take off the cap and clean with alcohol.if the noise continue.you will have to put some red or clear silicone both the cap and tube stick together leave to dry for about 2 to 4 hrs.this will eliminate the leaking.good luck.
