Question about Frigidaire Dryers

1 Answer

Frigidaire FDE336RES2 Hi I have an old dryer and just fixed a squeeking problem. As we were putting the dryer back together we found these 2 yellow plastic pieces and we know that one goes in the front of the dryer cabinet, but cant find where the other one goes. When we were taking it apart the one we know where it goes was still attatched, but the other was lying on the bottom of the dryer. I have searched diagrams and can't for the life of me find where the other one goes. I am assuming that because we did not put it back in that it is the reason for the grinding/rubbing sound we are now hearing instead of the screatching scream we were hearing. Anyone have any ideas on where to put this thing. I have some, but will keep them to myself!

Open the motor cover hole on the back of the dryer and right above the hole to the right side is a yellow plastic gear like mounted to the back plate of the dryer

Hi awc9859...
Your heating element is behind the drum where it is attached and case of the dryer
I have also attached a link so you could view the part in its location...double click on the drawing and look for part 15.
Please take time to rate me thumbs up

Take a look at #36 in the breakdown I have attached. This part is called a thermal limiter and blows if the heat is restricted in any way to cause the dryer to get too hot. You need to make sure that you don't have a lint buildup around the motor and in your vent hose. The part number for this part is 530320912. Hope this helps.250

Frigidaire FDE336RES2 Dryer marking Clothes

Excessive lint on or near the heater coils will send smoldering lint onto the clothes. Use a flash light and go inside the drum to see the heating coils or lifting the top up who should be able to see the lint build-up on the coils. These need to be cleaned.

Loud thumping noise in Frigidaire model # FDE336RES2

You have to remove the top lid. Then remove the front panel. Then remove the belt and drum.
Your problem is a bad rear drum support assembly.
Remember to unplug the dryer.

Need to know how to replace the belt on my dryer

Take off front and put belt over drum. Reinstall front. Take small access panel off back to install belt on motor. Idler pulley pushes against belt to tension it. Thanks, please leave feedback or contact me again for more info if you need it.

Broken tumbler belt

Slide a putty knife or other thin object between the top and front panels a couple inches in from either side. Press in and release the two spring clips holding the top panel and at the same time lift it up and lean it back. Remove the screws inside the front corners holding the front panel on. Place the new belt around the drum in about the same position as the old one was. Remove the lower rear panel to access pulleys. place belt around the motor pulley. Stretch the idler arm over and place belt around pulley. Reassemble.
