Question about Toshiba 50H82 50" Rear Projection Television

1 Answer

Flickering Lines I have an intermittent problem with thin flickering blue lines along the top third of the screen and thin pink flickering lines along the bottom third of the screen. The center third looks ok. Usually they come and go recently they have become more apparent and almost continuous. When the set was new it would do this once in a while. It's about 4 years old now. Thanks for the help.

Samsung SP47W3HFX tv blue flickering curved line..

If the lines are slightly curved and stationary on about 2/3 of the screen its either the Blue CRT or the Blue CRT drive board which is having the problem.

Sounds like the 1000uf capacitors on the FMT board need replacing. This is a common symptom with that chassis. There are three 1000uf caps that fail on that PC Board

No Blue. Horizontal Lines.

Not to me, but it also depends on if you could do this yourself or not. And the area you are in sometimes is responsible for the cost being high.

It sounds like you may have a loose solder connection either in the convergence circuit or the pincushion correction circuit. If you can't visually locate it, you may need a service manual and test equipment to track it down. I doubt that changing parts will be the cure if it is an intermittent problem.

Flickering horizontal lines

sounds like a problem in the horizontal deflection circuit.possibly a solder problem. try re-soldering the horizontal transistor, line coils and yoke pins.
