Question about Memorex M-Flyer 1GB USB 2.0 TravelDrive

1 Answer

Can't open m-flyer content on my laptop

I've had my M-Flyer for a couple of years and have not had any problems. In the past few weeks when I insert it into the USB of my laptop, the laptop recognises it but when I go to My Computer to open it, the picture hasn't appeared and when I click on it it says 'Choose the program you want to open this file'. I just want to see the files that are on it!
I can access the files but only by right-clicking on it and choosing 'Open as Portable Media Device' but even then I can't actually open any files as it says 'Files cannot be opened directly from this device' so I have to copy and paste them to open.
It must be a problem on my laptop as I've tried another memory stick and had the same problem, and I've used the M-Flyer on a PC with no problems.
I'm using Windows XP on a Toshiba Qosmio laptop. I'd be grateful for any help!

Usb contents has strange symbols that the computer can't read

It sounds like your files are encrypted (for some strange reason). You will need to figure out how to un-encrypt or disable encryption on the troublesome drive. It might help further if you stated what OS's are on the computers involved.

My USB was working until last Friday. I use the USB again, all I see is need format or not. I want to see all my files in the USB, but it wont let me see. How?

As it turns out, something on your USB drive has been corrupted. It is impossible to access the files already there, but if you want to use it in the future you will have to click "yes" when the computer prompts you to format it.

Hello sir/madam, i am vaibhav from solapur. my pendrive is not working. it is not detected to any computer. so sovle my problem. thanking you.

your pendrive is damaged. pendrives are hardly repairable, i am afraid you will to buy a new one. however you can try connecting it to different pcs with different operating systems and processors. if it still doesnot work on any of them, you can replace it with a new one.

Lost the instructions

Ok plug the the device into your usb port. Most usb devices have lights letting you know they are working. After plugging it in if your using Windows goto "My Computer" and look for a new Drive letter like when I plug mine in it says NO_NAME(G:) and then I can access the flashdrive just likes its a regular harddrive. Now you can always already have "My Computer" open so you can see the new drive letter pop up. Don't look for (G:) yours can be different but it might also be named something like TravelDrive(F:) thats just an example. I hope this helps you
