Amd turion x2 rm 70 mobile processor

My processor is amd turion(tm) x2 rm70 64 and i use windows vista basic 32bit operating system.................is that reducing the speed of my notebook or is it advantageous???????

also .......is intel core 2 duo t5750 a better processor than mine(as mentioned on many review websites like Toms hardware)......if yes, then is the difference in speed and performance a really big one or can be neglected???????
rather if someone could provide me a comparison between the two then it wud b very helpful.

also my notebooks gets very hot too early,is it because of the processor?mine is a 15.4inch hp pavilion dv5-1106ax or even the core 2 duos heat???

No the difference between the AMD and the Intel is very very small, you can't sense it at all.I have the Same AMD but on Toshiba satellite and i have no heating problem(maybe its the HP)
So go with the AMD and don't worry it has many amazing features (you can read more in teir website) and again don't worry-your processor is very good for a notebook(i have tested lots of new games on it and its no doubt amazing graphics)

I will be glad to share my little knowledge in this senario.
Basically, I am personally a fan of AMD processors who is the first to manufacture 64 Bit Processors for Desktops and Notebooks.
However, if you remember, Intel started concentrating on Performance and not on Speed after AMD was able to design processors which were able to outperform Intel processors with slower speeds.
So, you need to look into Performance and not into Speed of the Processor.
Coming to the processor installed in your notebook, it is normal but I recommend you to use Windows XP than using Vista since Vista need more RAM and processing power when compared to XP.
Also, Windows Vista Home Basic is the basic version among the Vista family with very little features.
Coming to the Heating issue, this is common for all Notebooks to heat up when used for long time since the Notebook parts are palced in a very small where if any part heats up, it is passed to other parts too.
Make sure that the Cooling Fan Vents in the Notebook are not filled with Dust.
You can find these vents located at the rear of the notebook from where the hot air should be emiting from inside the Notebook.
I recommend you to use a Vaccume Cleaner or Air Blower to blow away invisible dust which might be blocking the airflow.
Also, make sure that the Notebook is placed on a flat surface like a Table so that there will be air flow from the bottom of the Notebook and the Cooling Fan will be able to **** in the required air from the bottom and dissapate the heat generated by the internal components.
Also, check for any BIOS Update is available for your Notebook related to this issue and update with the same.
You need to contact HP Chat Support and get the exact BIOS Update for your notebook since updating the BIOS with incorrect Update will make the Notebook useless.

Hope this gives some idea about your doubts.....

SOURCE: amd turion x2 rm70 vs intel core 2 duo t5750!!!!

I read this and don't believe you - yes the AMD dual core gets hot - yes AMD processor are HOT processors - is intel better - no there on par with AMD - the thu put rate is so close it doesn't matter - now vista basic is just that BASIC - if you want to bump it up - home premium 32 or 64 but ultimate 64 should get it going.

Hello,
If as you say the lights are flashing, I suspect that indicates a hardware problem. Unfortunately, something like that cannot be solved by yourself (or us). You should contact HP to send the notebook in for checking it and repairing it.
Hope that helps!

Can I install a better CPU into my Toshiba Satellite P305D-S8834 17 1 Widescreen Notebook Computer then the AMD Turion X2 Processor RM-70 it came with?

Changing CPU is a serious change. When your unit was built the processor speed and type were written into the BIOS. When we change the CPU to a different type there is a chance that the BIOS will not recognize it and refuse to boot up. Also Windows was installed with the original CPU and a major change in hardware could mess up Windows.

I did some research and found this model comes with a 2.0-GHz AMD Turion X2 Dual-Core RM-70 CPU and 4GB of RAM. This is not the fastest CPU that can be put in a laptop but a very good one. (faster than mine)

I can guide you through the steps to replace it but my advice is stick with what you have until it breaks and buy a faster laptop. The upgrade won't gain you enough to justify the expense.

I got an AMD turion x2 64 processor in my new notebook n after reading reviews comparison to core 2 duo i m really tensed!

You made a good choice. In the CPU arena right now, the difference between the two CPUs is a toss up. The slight advantages of one vs. the other in benchmark tests is nominal and actually artificial..

What happens with an AMD CPU is with the associated GPU onboard. And with a 64bit processor, the number of apps and games that take advantage of 64bit CPUs has always been limited but they are growing. This will only become more and more numerous.

The main architectural difference in the two was in how the two cpus communicated and the AMD was first to use a bus between the two cores and the Intel had to go to the onboard memory controller and back. That was in the first inception. Still, AMD has been far in advance of Intel and Intel has played catch up in tricks inside the cores and how the north and southbridge took advantage of the cores' architecture.

Needless to say, I'm an AMD power user and my gaming rig has an AMD dual core on an Asus/Nvidia board and an Nvidia PCIe 9800 GPU.

In the long run, all modern notebooks require you to own a pad cooler to use these in your lap or not, they all produce heat. So, just get a good one designed for your laptop so it snaps into place and will keep your rig nice and cool.

At a LAN Party you won't suffer from having a dual core AMD cpu, you'll hold your own and it will be an even playing field and the wins will go to the person with the fastest fingers... as it should be.
