I have an Acer AL1916 monitor and I turned it on like normal yesterday and it has now got a weird green tint all over.. I've gone into the settings of the monitor and played with the red, blue and green...

sounds like a cable problem, can you find another VGA cable to try, look at the cable ends carefully for bent pins.(they are easy to bend by accident) wiggle the blue VGA connector while its on, try both ends, I think when you push the button your pushing on the cable momentarily which causes the monitor to function properly, likely the connector on the back of the monitor. if this helps, please use the thumbs up for feedback. cheers

My whole screen has a blueish green tint

  • Make sure the plugs are hard into the sockets, one loose pin can cause strange colour problems.
  • A faulty signal cable between PC and monitor can also cause colour problems, try a different cable if possible
  • Try it on a different computer to find out whether the computer or the monitor is the problem. If it's the monitor and none of the above works, it will need service or replacement. If it's the computer, your video card is likely to be the problem.

Can"t find white or comfortable background screen other than a light green that is hurting my eyes

If you have a screen that gets "tints" of various colors on a corner or edge, check that the monitor plugin cable is not near or laying on top of a power cable, the magnetic field around a power cord will cause a monitor to get strange tints or lines in the screen. Option two if the entire screen has a tint equally all over it is possibly the color is out of adjustment or failing - a technician should be able to adjust it internally.

Greenish screen

sometimes speaker magnets or any metallic device can cause this disturbance in this type of monitor. also, if you are using dvi, i would reset all video driver settings to default. this may correct this green tint you are seeing as well. reinstalling the monitor software could have a positive affect.

Red tinted screen pc monitor

I'm not sure if this will solve the problem but it is worth a shot.
I have a 19" Proview that does the same thing only in green.
I finally chased the problem to the VGA cable. When I move the cable around at the back of the computer, it straightens out and works fine. If your monitor has a changeable VGA cable try that. If it is like mine where it has a fixed VGA cable, you might be able to have someone replace the cable. If that does not solve the problem, it is probably the inverter board or something inside the unit.

Monitor screen changes from regular color to a green tinted screen?

Is the cable connected securely? You may need to check your video card also. You may be able to disconnect the cable and get a red, green, blue icon on the screen. If that appears normal then there is nothing wrong with the monitor itself, it may be the cord or the video card.

Hope this helps!
