Check the expiration dates on the new ink cartridge. If it is already expired, your printer will no longer detect it.

Its better take it for the servicing its happen when the cartridge carrying case of the printer not senses the cartridge, or you can do one thing clean it by some soft cotton clothe gently, then install the cartridge and check if the problem persists its better take it to the service centre

Do the following:

Remove cartridges.

Unplug power

Unplug printe USB

Unplug computer

Restart computer

Plug back printer power and printer USB to computer.

Install back cartridges.

If it still does not work, get replacement cartridges, one of them is faulty.

Hi,
Step one: Reset the All-in-One:

Do NOT perform any other type of reset on the All-in-One before the ink initialization process has been completed.

  1. Without turning the power off, remove the power cord from the back of the All-in-One and from the wall socket.
  2. Wait 30 seconds and reconnect the power cord to the All-in-One and to the wall socket. Turn the unit on if it is not already turned on.
  3. Check the All-in-One for the error message. If the error message still displays, clean the contacts of the print cartridges.

Step two: Check the print cartridge for the protective tape

Check each print cartridge. The tape might have been removed from the
copper-colored contacts, but still might cover the ink nozzles. If the tape is still
covering the ink nozzles, carefully remove the tape from the print cartridges.

    :

    Do not
touch the ink nozzles or the copper-colored contacts.

  • Priya darshan Nov 02, 2008

Step three: Reinstall the problem cartridge

One or both of the print cartridges are missing or are installed
incorrectly. Remove and reinsert the print cartridges and verify that they are fully
inserted and locked in place. If the problem persists, clean the copper-colored
    contacts of the print cartridges.

Step four: Replace the problem cartridge

The print cartridge is defective or not intended for use in this device. Replace the problem cartridge with a new cartridge.

Try testing it on another cartridge. could be possible that the one you installed was defective or has the problem. just re check it with some another tank.

New refilled cartridges do not work

I am with Inkjet411 (i.e. technical support for Costco's ink refill machines). It would be helpful to know which cartridges we are talking about. For any of the severe HP 60 / 61 / 901 / 74-75 / 93-97 ink cartridge error messages which result in 'no printing' (i.e. Incompatible Print Cartridges / Cartridges Error', etc.), in most cases the cartridge is electrically damaged (they don't make them the way they used to). Our test lab has run numerous studies across 100+ printer models. I suggest you run the Tap 41 diagnostic 'print-mech tap test' to check the cartridges electrical health first (see www.inkjet411.com for specific printer models instructions or ping youtube for our videos on this). Here is just one example for the HP 74-75 ink cartridges in the HP Photosmart C4200-C5500 series printer models:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8fE-IM4AVMc

>> I also suggest you watch this informational video which explains the issue in more detail:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BskAfa6NJSg

>> Now, it is possible to force the printer spit out a print job during these error conditions (however, usually just one print job at a time) with a marginally performing ink cartridge by clearing the checksum code, but this is only a temporary solution (i.e. on the HP Officejet J4xxx and 4500 series for example, press * + # keys together, then press 123. Go to Information Menu, then go to Checksum for Relock data, a 4/5 digit code will be displayed...then go ahead and press Cancel to exit out. Send your print job thru. We have many of the 'access' procedures for hundreds of HP printer models on Inkjet411.com. Good luck!

My printer lights ( all three) are blinking with error message of "cartridge problem" I have tried to replace the cartridge with no success and cleaning the cartridge but no luck. Please help.

In this case you will need two new cartridges to identify the problem.
Take one new color cartridge and one black. Now, remove both the old cartridges and install the new ones and restart the printer.
Most probably your issue should be resolved.
Please ensure that you are using the following cartridges only.
Print cartridge information Part name Part description Product number Print cartridge Black HP No. 15 (equivalent to HP C6615 series) Print cartridge Tri-color HP No. 78 (equivalent to C6578 series)

How do I change ink cartridge on my HP inkjet 6500 wireless printer.

Hi, When using refilled print cartridges, the Estimated Ink level and the Printer Status Window may indicate that the print cartridge is out of ink. Either continue to use the print cartridge until print quality degrades, or replace the print cartridge with a new HP print cartridge.

The methods of replacing the ink cartridge of the printer follows here:
Open the printer cover
The printer ink carriage will automatically goes to center
Once the carriage is in the center, the printer was ready to replace the ink.
Pull the down slowly the ink tank off the carriage..
Remember the place where the color/black position.
Remove each tank one at a time, and replace the ink with a new one.
Close the printer cover and it now ready to printer.

Wont detect

1. Make sure that you removed the tape covering the metal contacts on the print cartridges.

2. Clean those contacts with a cotton swab and distilled, filtered or bottled water. Tap water may damage. Do not touch with curious fingers. Allow to dry.

3. Reinsert, Reset printer.

I have a HP Photosmart C4200 series printer. I want to use an alternative supplier colour cartridge, but it won't print! I feel it should. How do I make the printer print with this cartridge?

Contact the dealer for the alternate cartridge, you probably have a defective cartridge that should be replaced under warranty. The third party cartridges are generally remanufactured, cartridges that have been used once (or more) before, then refilled. The quality varies widely. See here for a study of third party cartridge quality.
