Bluetooth not working, shows as disabled, asking to press FUNCTION + F2 to enable wireless radio funcionality, when in fact wireless is ON (using Wi-Fi normally).

Dell Inspiron 8600 Truemobile 300 Bluetooth module previously worked fine, had to reinstall Windows XP, wifi works fine but cannot turn on Bluetooth. When press Fn/F2 to enable wireless popup message says device not found...may be disconnected, not functioning, etc. If go to Bluetooth configuration panel, click Hardware tab, it says "device not found". I have uninstalled/reinstalled software doesn't help, also disabled Bluetooth in Device Manager and had it reconfigure with plug n play also no help. Maybe the Bluetooth module is damaged? Can't think of anything else.

Look at boot, in setup (F2):
Go to wireless page (Alt-P Twice)
Check if Bluetooth onboard card is detected.
If not, it may be and hardware problem;
Is this card really installed?
Check bluetooth cable connector (where the hard disk is)...

Regards
Stabilo.

SOURCE: Dell Inspiron 8600 validating problems

This is a problem associated with a wireless connection. What it is asking for is the identity of your wireless lan. That is, the name the router is broadcasting. This is called the network ID.and is what you must supply when asked. If you untick the IEEE.802.1 you disable the connection. You will also need to have the nework securety code (WEP) to logon.

Hi, I have a Dell Inspiron 531 built-in webcam that don't work. Can you tell me what i need to do to fix this?

Step 1: First connect the bluetooth device to USB port on your computer and check that it is detecting on your computer or not.

Step 2: Now insert the bluetooth software driver CD to your system that will auto start after few seconds then follow instruction to finish bluetooth software installation.

Step 3: Now go to 'start -> Devices and Printers' and click 'Add a device' from top of the window.

Step 4: Now your Windows 7 system will search the bluetooth device which connected to your system.

Step 5: Click the bluetooth device you want to install from the list and then click the 'Next' button and wait for windows to configure the bluetooth device. If prompted to enter a passcode, enter the default code listed in the bluetooth device manual. In many cases, the default passcode will be '0000'.

Now the bluetooth device has successfully installed and ready to use.

Note: If you bluetooth device was not listed in the search results from Step 4, make the device discoverable. Access your Bluetooth-enabled device's settings page, and turn on the device's 'Listen' or 'Discoverable' function to allow you computer to find it.

Get Dell technical assistance at http://www.vtechsquad.com/dell-support/ , if the same problem is still occurring.
