Remot control working but not properly

Option 1: Purchase replacement remote
Option 2: Purchase a universal remote
Option3: Like most remotes they can be disassembled and the board and rubber pads cleaned with de-natured alcohol and reassembled. This may work but is tedious. Unless batteries have leaked in the remote. Then replacement is your only recourse.

Internally change channel 3 to 4 on VCR

Hi, In most VCRs, as you have posted, there is a switch at the back where you can select the output to either Ch 3 or 4. In some cases, the switch is deep inside and you have to remove a small squarish rubber covering to expose the hole. It is normally close to the antenna input/output. More often than not it is a simple sliding 2 position switch. You would need any tool that can reach and sturdy enough to slide the switch. Internally program output channel selector is very possible, I would guess that its selectable via the menu set-up tabs. A question pls, How did you "I tried to manually change the channel to 4, but the VCR reverted back to channel 3..." Hope this be of some help to you. Pls post again how things turn up or further information. Good luck and kind regards.

How to open sony rmvlz620

I have a Sony RM-VLZ620T IR Remote Control.
This remote consits of:
- Two pieces of black plastic cover.
- A red plastic cover on the front of the Remote (It covers the IR leds)
- One piece of gray rubber stripe with fixing patents(!) around on the sidewall of the remote.
- One piece rubber sheet with the buttons.
- One piece circuit board with battery fixer metalic springs.

1. Removing the gray stripe.
Be gently to avoid to tear apart the rubber fixing patents. (There are three kind) It's much easier if you start from the back of the remote near the arc and move forward one by one. Use a small screwdriver or a plastic tool.
2. Opening the cover (together with gray stripe removal)
There are 5 rectangle shaped "holes" (~7mmx2mm) on the both side of the upper black plastic part of the cover (2x5). Use a screwdriver to lift them up (away from the bottom part) one by one from the back to the front.
Hole positions:
1. Near the sony logo
2. Next to the 1,3 channel buttons.
3. Next to the heart and info buttons.
4. Next to the record and stop buttons.
5. Next to the set and power button.

How do you change the channel on this model?

Hi Eric,

Does the unit have knobs on the top of the unit, or just buttons in the front panel beneath the screen?

If the former is the case, one of them will have numbers on it, this is the channel selector.

If the latter is the case, then you should see two buttons with up and down arrows on them, one is Volume, the other is Channel selector.

I hope this is useful to you.

Minolta Compact II Binoculars - the focusing adjustment is seized, how do I free it?

The adjusting knob has a rubber cover over it. Remove the rubber cover and take out the phillips head screw underneath. Then turn the adjusting knob all the way left with a pair of pliers and continue turning and it will unscrew and come off. Underneath you will find a metal lock nut, when you loosen this you will find the adjusting knob is suddenly not frozen anymore. It seems that this nut tightens over time to the point where the whole mechanism freezes. You can take the nut off and put some thread lock on the threads and tighten it just enough and it won't happen again. Cheers.

Service lights

Hi, if your 2006 Audi A6 service light is coming up, you have to reset it by following the instruction below..

If your instrument cluster has 2 knobs, one on each side (Older A4's, 1998-2004 A6's, TT's up to ~2006):
Press the right knob and hold it, turn the ignition on, release the right knob and press the left knob, the display should change to service in ----- miles. Or....

Press the right knob and hold it. Turn the ignition on and release the right knob and pull the left one. Then, push the right knob again and pull the left knob again. The display where the mileage is shown should change.

If your instrument cluster has a little wrench on a button on the right (2002-2008 A4's):
Press and hold the wrench button. Turn the ignition on, release the wrench button and press the 0,0 button next to it. The center display should change.

If you have a older body A8, you may be able to reset without a scan tool. Press the 0,00 button on the right of the cluster, turn the ignition on and release the 0,00 button and press the "M" or "Mode" button on the left and it should reset. If this does not work, or you have a 2004 or newer A8, it will probably require a scan tool.

If you have a much older or newer Audi, or certain A8's, you need a scan tool or a special made service light reset tool, available online. You can also purchase af, ter market software and a adapter lead for your laptop and use that. The reset tools will come with instructions. The After market software will go as follows:
On most older vehicles, enter vehicle self diagnosis. Go to #17: Instrument cluster. Go to adaptations, and change the following adaptation channel numbers to the number listed next to it, following the on screen prompts to save and accept.
Channel 5 --> 12
Channel 6 --> 24
Channel 7 --> 36
Channel 8 --> 72

If you have a A3, 2009+ A4, 2005+ A6 or 2004+ A8, or a Q7 and are using the after market software:
Go to guided functions, go to service work, go to reset service light, or something of that nature, and follow the on screen prompts.

Describe your sanyo moddel number DS27590Problem, I am trying to get the T.V off Video to go into a T.V channel without a remote and i need assisstance into how to do it. How do u Change the channel off of...

Hi there

Check the set to see if it has a source or A/V button. If not, the only thing that you can try is to scroll with the channel buttons up down buttons to see if you can get to the TV channels.
It is likely that you have already tred that:) If that has failed you, then you WILL need to remote to do this. I am sorry to say that this is the only way to get there. You can purchase a remote online from here

Not the only solution you have, in light of the impending change from analogue to digital... you could put your money towards a digital set top box and solve the remote issue at the same time. Check out what you can get from here. They start at less than $50, and could plug into the set you have eliminating the need to change it out of AV mode. You also get extra channels :)
Happy to answer any questions that you may have about it. Cheers

Remote control intermittent. remote power on button slow and tedious. volume works ok, but channel up and down does not work at all. to change channels mus use numberics. play, stop, ff rev works okay....

take apart the remote and remove the rubber button pad.look at the back of the buttons,the carbon has worn off or got full of oil.take a q tip with alcohol and clean the buttons.if they are worn off,take a small piece of aluminum foil and glue it to the button .it is small 1/8 inch diameter or so.if you look at the pc board,you will see 2 sets of lines for each button that do not touch.looks like a small maze.what happens when you touch the button is that the carbon connects the 2 lines.eventually alot of force is needed to make contact work,but it completely wears out the button contact pad surface.Gluing a piece of foil to the button will make it work.i have done it a hundred times on remotes with no replacement...
cheers ed
