Question about Modems

1 Answer

Securing wireless Dear Hollyecho, I use a Seimens ADSL2 wireless broadband modem for connecting my wireless laptops at home. However, this is an insecure connection and even my neighbours connect to my wireless without my control. Can you please guide me as to how to wireless-secure my modem so that I can connect without hassles and passwords to be typed each time but my neighbours can not? Thanks Prof S Dvivedi sanjood@yahoo.com

Rather than going down the route of signal boosters, I would reccomend "homeplugs" This runs your broadband signal through your electricity ring main. You can then extract the broadband connection at any plug socket you want. Have a look at the link.
