Sonic Popup prevents windows media coming up when trying to play CD
When I insert a music cd a sonic popup comes up prompting me to go on line and buy music. I want to get rid of this popup as I think this is keeping my windows media from coming up. I can play the cd if i go to my computer and click on the cd drive. This is the only way I can get to windows media player.

After you insert a blank un-burned CD, you should get prompted by windows for 'how' you want to treat the CD: ignore that; if you open Windows Explorer (mouse-over the Start button and right-click, then choose Explore from the popup menu) then drag and drop the file(s) you want to copy onto the CDRW drive, then Windows enqueues the file(s) for writing. Right-click the CDRW drive icon and select the option to write/eject and it's done.
Try uninstalling Roxio and the Sonic drives and run Fixit. Then reboot and install Roxio first then the Sonic driver.
If this doesn't work uninstall again as previously, install Roxio and check the CD/DVD if necessary run Fixit then install Sonic driver.
Have you try sonic? That come with the Hp Compac pc softwares. Find the original two cd that comes with the pc, and look for the restore and drivers cd. or try to system restore the pc where you think the last time you burn cd on you pc.
Reinstall Sonic MyDVD from the Application Recovery. A lot of HP computers have done this or produced that constant pop up.
If that doesn't work, go to:
Start > Run and type in msconfig in the box.
Then click the Startup tab and uncheck the box beside DMA (digital media archive)
Click Apply then Close. Reboot when prompted and you shouldn't get that annoying pop up any longer.
If you don't even use the Sonic MyDvD program on the computer, just uninstall Sonic completely from Add/Remove.

There are three ways to create a Video CD (VCD) that contains your photo stories:
You can obtain Microsoft Plus! Digital Media Edition and view the Photo Story 3-authored WMV file in Photo Story 2 by going to Play your story or create a video CD of your story and then create a VCD.using the Photo Story 2 Video CD-burning feature.
You can obtain Microsoft Digital Image Suite 10 or above and view the Photo Story 3-authored WMV file in the Photo Story that comes with the Digital Image Library and save and burn to VCD.
You can obtain VCD-authoring products that work with Photo Story files, such as MyDVD by Sonic Solutions or InstantCD\DVD by Pinnacle Systems. You can use these software to convert the Windows Media video (WMV) files into files that can be copied to a DVD and played in a DVD player. Note: VCD and DVD-authoring software is not included with Photo Story 3.
Download and install CCleaner.
You can use ccleaner to clean up all windows and internet temporary files, ren a registry clean and also in "tools > startup" stop that annoying Sinic nag screen from coming up.
