As per your reply i will go to safe mode & do the chkdsk & fix boot. Now kindly guide me how to go in safe mode if hard drive is not detectable. As i clearly mentioned in my mail that i am not able to detect hard drive when it is in laptop or portable hard drive.

Actually if the hd is corrupted, you can try to go to safe mode or do a chkdsk and then fix boot otherwise you need to contact drivesavers for that.

I apologize i didnt notice that the hd is not detected you can try to go to the bios setup, by pressing f2 when you see the dell logo, check there if your hard drive is detected or not, if still its not detected, otherwise you can try to reseat the drive itself, if you have a manual you can check that or you can try to go to support.dell.com click on drivers and downloads and enter the service tag of your laptop, then click on manuals on the left hand corner and choose service manual, it will show you on how you will be able to reseat your hd, if after reseatting the drive and the same problem persist you can try to do the onboard diagnostics of dell, that will show you a bunch of error codes, if you will do the diags you can try to do it by pressing fn and power button at the same time and release power button first before you release fn,until you will see preboot system assessment, or if this doesnt work when you see the dell logo tap on f12 and choose utility partition on the options. if you have more questions send me a message.

Intel hdd hard error

First - re-seat the hard disk and reboot the computer. If the computer does not boot up then reboot and go into the BIOS configuration to see if the BIOS detects the hard drive. If it doesn't detect the hard drive then it could be faulty.
Then the hard drive needs to be replaced in the computer/laptop, Windows installed and the computer or laptop's device drivers plus your programs etc. to get a functioning computer/laptop again.

I bought a Dell laptop (Latitude D610) many years ago. Now it ask me about primary password. I can not do anything with it now. In boot mode, the HDD is not recognized. My service tag: XE406660139-595B,...

Replace it.

If you need any DATA off the computer bring it to your friendly computer shop or computer "geek" and see if he can read anything on the drive and should be able to transfer it to your laptop for you.

Of if the Data on the D610 is not really important, Replace It.

Your computer's hard drive is corrupted you can either send off for a recovery disk if you dont have one or get a new hard drive (or a new laptop whichever is cheaper i suppose)

I was working on my Dell Latitude D610 last night and this morning; I left it running while I went out for a few errands. When I came back, everything had shut down and I am now getting this error message...

Do you know how to bring up the bios ? (try pressing del or f10, f12, f2 while the dell logo is showing at startup) usually one of these will open the bios. Now look for your "primary master" click on it and then click on populate when the option becomes available.
As long as the bios can "see" your hard drive it is still good.

from here you have 2 options.
the first is to pull out the hard drive and put it into a usb enclosure and reinstall your OS and software onto a new hard drive, while retaining access to your files and such on the external drive.
the second is to use the recovery tools on the OS install disk to try and repair the MBR (master boot record).

Blue screen error may generally appear for three important reasons : 1.If you system is infected with some viruses and your hard drive has bad sectors in it.
2. If your memory card has gone bad or not properly pluged.
3. The OS has gone corupt due to virus attack.....

Resolution: 1. Go ahead and do a complete format on your hard drive and then install the OS, i.e., Win XP.
2.Try replacing your Memory Card in your system.
3. Change your hard drive or conatct Geek Squad @ 1-800-433-5778 for data recovery.

Dell screen comes on and trys to load up

Hi

Seems like the hard drive has failed, or there is no hard drive in the laptop, replace it with a new one.

This part of the service manual shows you how to replace it:
