Hook up the ground with the pink and when you are in am/fm mode hit the dvd set up button on the remote, input the no. 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, and 0 make sure it beeps after every no. has been pressed. then it should bring up the hidden menu select the hammer option and turn on the brake bypass option. your done

This will bypass the video safety.

No cd audio from my phase linear uv8

It sounds like you have a factory amp in the vehicle. Check behind the radio to see if you have the blue wire from the deck hooked up to anything. You probably do. So take the blue with white stripe wire coming from the deck and hook that up instead of the solid blue wire.

Hi,

Appreciate the direct "Ask Me". For some reason, I did not receive any notification that you posted back/commented on your original post. Our apologies for any inconvenience.

To your concern, pls confirm if the Jensen's below listed wires are connected to the Subarus' similarly listed wires:
08ff683.jpg
Pls note that there are two (2) wiring versions for the Subaru presented (and possibly several more) depending on the country of assembly/manufacture. Additionally, may I pls inquire if you used a harness/connector adapter, something similar to this? Further, with the use of a DVM, pls check the presence of:
  • +12 on Yellow at any condition: IGN SW off or on, door open or closed, Jensen on or off; and
  • switched +12 on the Red (that is when the IGN SW is either at ACC or ON/RUN) at any condition: Idoor open or closed, Jensen on or off.
Hope this be of additional help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for your continued patronage of FixYa.

My phase linear uv8

Hi

The Laser Diode inside the UV8 that reads the DVD media is most likely set too weak for the amount of dust built up in over time. This dust block the laser optics and causes the player to not read DVD's. You will want to go get a bottle of air from Radio shack and blow the DVD player out. The reason it is reading CD's is that its laser diode may be set stronger and is able to break through the dust. There are two Laser Diodes, one for CD, and one for DVD. Good luck. www.PlaystationClinic.com

Uv8 problem!!!! please help

Ipod controls usually go to the cd changer input or auxiliary input. They might have just updated the the looks but usually the inside is the same, especially if they have the same model number. By the way you can get that ipod cable really cheap on ebay.

for the uv8 to bypass the parking brake to watch dvds you have to take the pink wire and put one end to one of the screws on a two screw toggle switch connect the other end of the pink wire to the other screw and connect that to the black ground wire

I have same problem with same uv8 but i use remote to activate am/fm then hit setup on rem.enter 543210 and a new menu came up. ( listening for the beep after each 3 is pressed ) select the hammer in upper left hand corner of screen, select brake bypass to on, then hot the X near bottom os screen. this works for me it should work for you.
