Question about HP LaserJet 4L Printer
When I send a job to the printer the blinking green light starts, the printer starts a growling or grinding noise. The noise lasts for about 3-5 seconds and the paper light blinks and goes off and the error light comes on. When I pull the paper tray out the top sheet has lifted and advanced about a quarter of an inch. Not other paper jammed in the printer. Any help would be appreciated. Bill Reavis email@example.com
Replaced the Drive Motor Gear. It had split open and was slipping on the splines. Runs great again

purchase a maintenance kit.
replace the piper pickup roller.
since the the printer is old and lots things need to be replaced. it is easier to replace all of the necessary parts when you have the printer apart.
the job is not difficult, just time consuming.
