Dell vostro 3500 shows battery connected but not charging and intermittently shoes no battery detected

Instructions

1
Determine if the laptop battery is defective. While less than 1 percent of batteries are defective, the possibility is still there. If the battery is new and only charges some of the way, it may just require a BIOS update to charge fully. New batteries that refuse to charge at all may be defective. Purchase a new laptop battery to replace the defective one.

2
Test the laptop power adapter to see if it's faulty. Run the laptop directly from the laptop power adapter and without the battery. If the laptop does not work with the adapter plugged in, the adapter is dead and you will need to replace it. The laptop battery may refuse to charge if the adapter is faulty. Charge the battery with the laptop turned off.

3
Insert the laptop battery into another laptop to test it. If the laptop battery charges in another laptop, the laptop's motherboard may be bad. Replacing a motherboard in a computer can be very expensive. If the cost to fix the computer is not worth the cost of replacing the motherboard, consider purchasing a new laptop.

4
Reinstall the battery to ensure all connectors latch properly. The latch mechanism that holds the laptop battery should click into place. If the latch does not close, remove the battery and examine the compartment for signs of damage.

5
Troubleshoot the BIOS to determine if there is a hardware problem. Turn on the laptop and immediately enter BIOS setup by holding down the "Del" and "F1" or "F2" keys, depending on the make and model of the laptop. When the BIOS screen appears, see how long it takes for the battery to charge down. If the battery does not last as long as the BIOS setup, a hardware failure may be the problem.

Hi, I have eMachines E640-N833G25Nnks, P/N: LX.NA102.059, Model: NEW85, S/N: LXNA10205902804E2A1601. It is: proc: AMD Phenom II X3 Mobile Processor N830, graphics: ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4250, mem: 3GB,...

I Googled to see if there was any problems related to battery sensors, seems eMachines laptops don't have that problem, the laptop runs well while plugged in, so it's not internal circuitry, I believe it's a battery problem, as you say charging level has been decreasing progressively, try your battery on another laptop to see if the battery is the problem and just in case try a friend's battery on your laptop to completely eliminate doubts about battery sensors, if you don't have a friend with a similar laptop I would go the safe way and send the battery for replacement, if the store where you bought it is in the same country you should get the laptop there so they check out what's going on, if you live in a different country read the manual or click "eMachines customer support" to see if there's any tech support near your city, I still believe it's a battery problem.
Not I'm gonna give you some advice on taking care of your laptop's battery: - When you get new batteries make sure you charge them at least 12 hours before using it. - If you're not going to use your laptop in a while (one or two weeks) get the battery to full charge and then deattach it from the computer, put it back in if you're going to use it. - If using your battery periodically get it to full charge and deplete your battery's energy completely by using the computer until it turn's off itself and then recharge it completely again at least once a week.
If you have any questions, I'll be glad to help. Have a nice day.

When i plug in my charger to my laptop it doesnt work and i dont know whats wrong with it

This issue can be caused by any of the below possibilities. 1.- Computer AC / DC cable is bad not allowing the computer battery to charge.
2.- Battery is bad.
3.- Battery charger board is bad.

Solutions:
1.- Computer AC / DC cable is bad not allowing the computer battery to charge
Verify that the AC and or DC cable is not bad by testing the computer only with the power plug connected and the battery out of the laptop.
2.- Battery is bad
It is possible that if the power plug is good that the computer battery is bad. Leave the computer connected to the power with the battery connected in the computer for at least one hour; if the battery does not charge, consider having the battery and/or the laptop serviced or repaired.
If the computer and/or battery is not in warranty consider just replacing the battery as it is very likely that it is just a bad battery.
3.- Battery charger board is bad
If the battery has been replaced or an alternate battery from an alternate identical laptop does not work in the computer, it is likely that the power or charger board within the laptop is bad. It is recommended that the laptop be serviced or repaired.

This will fix your problem.

I have a Acer aspire 6920G laptop. Now i want to turn on the side blue lights during battery mode. Because when i use the laptop in battery mode this turned off.. Any body has any idea??

at battery mode....you cannot turn on the blue lights because the battery is low at that time....due to that it will not turn on the blue at that time....if you want to turn on blue lights during battery mode when you use your laptop in battery mode then the only way is to charge your laptop when your laptop is in battery mode.....there is no other way

My battery has stopped charging, and the battery charge light flashes green, then yellow. Is it the battery or charger?

I'm assuming you mean the battery of a laptop. Laptop batteries have a shelf life, which is shortened if the laptop is constantly plugged in the wall. By the same token, if your laptop is constantly plugged in the wall, you don't really need a new battery. (They cost upwards of $80)

Laptop battery wot charge to 100%

Please help us help you.....

1. Brand of laptop
2. Model of laptop

Alot of laptop batteries decrease in charge value throughout use. If your laptop is an HP it has a battery restore program with the orginal software sent with your HP laptop. It takes an overnight commitment to let the program run but it usally restores the life of the laptop battery. Another solution would to be buy a new one off ebay.

Battery problem

SreeSatya,

Laptop batteries have a limited lifespan. When they reach the end of that life, this is how they behave. How old is your laptop?

I just replaced my Toshiba after three years. Unfortunately, laptop batteries are not cheap. You can find batteries for your system here:

Aspire 5610 laptop, just purchased new rechargable li-ion battery 4400 travelmate and on startup laptop says not acer battery and does not recognize it.

Is the battery "genuine" or off eBay? (I have to ask)
If it's from eBay then there is a very good chance it's a refurbished or even fake battery.

There is an IC inside the battery that identifies itself to the laptop. Most laptops use this kind of technology even in the power adaptor to detect a genuine unit from a fake that could damage the laptop.

If you had no problems with the original battery with identification then you can be assured the matching IC inside the laptop is fine and it's the IC in the battery that has either failed or is indeed non-genuine.
