Hello, I am trying to change my plug-in settings for my firewall or whatever so I looked up how to do this and came to this website (I have a Motorolla router by the way). I successfully typed in my gateway number into the url. This brings me to a page with a log-in screen. The problem is that I cannot log in. I typed "admin" into both the username and password spaces with no effect.

Re: Log In Problem
By default, username is admin and default password is motorola If that didn't work, you can just reset the device by pressing the reset button at the back of it for 30 seconds, then unplug the power for 30 seconds, then plug it back in. That should reset it back to factory defaults which is admin and motorola.

1. Log in to the DG834G firewall at its default LAN address of http://192.168.0.1 with its default
user name of admin and default password of password, or using whatever LAN address and
password you have set up.
2. Click the Wireless Settings link in the main menu of the DG834G firewall.
3. Choose a suitable descriptive name for the wireless network name (SSID). In the SSID box,
enter a value of up to 32 alphanumeric characters. The default SSID is Wireless.
Note: The SSID of any wireless access adapters must match the SSID you configure in the
DG834G Wireless ADSL Firewall Router. If they do not match, you will not get a wireless
connection to the DG834G.
4. Set the Region. Select the region in which the wireless interface will operate.
5. Set the Channel. The default channel is 11.
This field determines which operating frequency will be used. It should not be necessary to
change the wireless channel unless you notice interference problems with another nearby
wireless router or access point. Select a channel that is not being used by any other wireless
networks within several hundred feet of your firewall. For more information on the wireless
channel frequencies please refer to "Wireless Channels" on page D-7.
6. For initial configuration and test, leave the Wireless Card Access List set to allow everyone
access by making sure that "Turn Access Control On" is not selected in the Wireless Station
Access List. In addition, leave the Encryption Strength set to "Disabled."
7. Click Apply to save your changes.
8. Configure and test your computers for wireless connectivity.
Program the wireless adapter of your computers to have the same SSID and channel that you
configured in the router. Check that they have a wireless link and are able to obtain an IP
address by DHCP from the firewall.
Next, you will have to set your wireless key so that you can prevent everyone from accessing your router. To do this,
1. Log in at the default LAN address of http://192.168.0.1, with the default user name of admin
and default password of password, or using whatever LAN address and password you have
2. Click Wireless Settings in the Setup section of the main menu of the DG834G.
3. Choose the WPA-PSK radio button. The WPA-PSK menu will open.
4. Enter the pre-shared key in the Passphrase field.
5. Click Apply to save your settings.
make sure you have an internet connection. try opening a website. if you cannot log in to yahoo messenger what error are you getting? if password error check your password and user name in yahoo messenger you don't have to type in the @yahoo.com in the username and the password try to type it in the notepad to check if you typed the correct password. copy that password then paste it in the password box. check for your antivirus and firewall setting maybe it is stopping your yahoo messenger from connecting the internet. also try uninstalling and reinstalling your yahoo messenger. try downloading the latest version if still don't get any luck logging in. try to log in to the web base yahoo messenger http://webmessenger.yahoo.com/
To find the key you need to log into the router. In a browser, type http://192.168.2.1 (depending on your network, this could be 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1) in the address bar. A username and password box will appear. Try leaving them blank or key in Admin with a blank password. Look for wireless setup. Just browse through and you'll see the WEP key or passphrase. Then, change the key.
You can get all this info if you go to Start-> (type) RUN, then (type) CMD. Then type ipconfig. Whatever your gateway number is that is the number to your router
There is a reset button on your device. Look for a small hole. First turn off your device. Press and hold down this button using a paper clip while turning on the unit. This will reset the settings back to its default.
You need to put the correct credentials in Your Wireless connection settings on your Laptop. Example: SSID Name, Type of Connection, and Key. If you do not know your settings you may have to get a Network cable and connect directly to the Router and then log in by typing whatever IP address the Router defaults to. Usually Linksys is 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.2.1. You would put that IP address in your browser like a URL. Then it will ask you to log in and then you will log in as whatever the defualt user name and password is. You can find more info at the Linksys website.
I don't know what brand this is but typically you have to log into the router to set up website blocking. If you have access to the web go to the manufacturers web site and look up the default log-in. Most routers use a default log-in may be "admin" but i do not know the password.
Once you do have the login information you will need to log into the router and add blocked site info.
In your favorite browser's address bar type: http://gateway.2wire.net/mdc
You should see a log-in screen, enter your password. The next screen will have a list on the left, in the 3rd section titled "firewall" there are 2 settings links. If you are wanting to open certain ports for gaming etc, use the first link. If you are wanting to change the security settings (not a good idea unless you know EXACTLY what you are doing) use the second.
Have you checked the Windows Firewall settings? If it is On, try turning it off and attempt the connection with RealVNC. If the problem persists, try adding an Exception to the Windows Firewall, just as an added troubleshooting measure.
Click Start, navigate to Control Panel, double-click Windows Firewall, and open the Exceptions tab. Look for a RealVNC entry. If you don't see one, click the "Add Port" button, type RealVNC as the entry name, and 5900 as the port number. Select the TCP radio button, click OK and then OK once more. Attempt the RealVNC connection again.
I hope this helps! Feel free to reply with results or further questions.
This is your router's IP address: http://192.168.2.1 Type that into your address bar. To the left you will see a menu. Select "Firewall". When the log in screen appears, click submit without entering a password. Click "disable firewall", then "apply changes".
