Its a 3 year old Samsung DLP and one day the HDTV channel has no sound and has green checkers. Regular channels are mostly black and some white streaks. Is it time to get a new one or is this fixable?

Hi,
a 6ya Technician can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repair professionals here in the US.
click here to Talk to a Technician (only for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Goodluck!

It sounds to me as though your old HDTV has a HD tuner built in. Not all HDTVs do and unfortunately your LG does not (I looked it up).

If you want to get free over the air HD you will need to buy a HD digital tuner box and an HD antenna.

Good luck!

Thank you!!!! Our power was off due to new transformers being installed in the area and we had no clue how to fix this. I called around and no one seemed to know the answer (not even Samsung, who only wanted to tell me my TWO year old tv was out of warranty),so I tried this and it worked perfectly!!! You saved me a bundle! Thanks!
