Hi Kathy, The DVD player has accidently set to the wrong video ouput or P.Scan mode. Remove the disc from the DVD tray and press the P.Scan button on the DVD remote control untill the pictures comes back. You should receive the picture within three clicks on the P.Scan button. Thanks, Mike

I just bought a Curtis 1041 dvd player I set the player up I am receiving sound from the DVD but no picture. What is wrong

hi,
connect the dvd player to the tv insert a disk then press the progressive scan (proscan) button on the remote control. If the progressive scan is on then there is a possibility of video missing in some tv's. If then also there is no video then you have to check the video cable. Try with some othere video cable.

If the problem previes after replasing the video cable then the video processor in the dvd player is fauly. You will not get this video processor in the oppen market. Only way is replasing the board.

Curtis DVD-8009 picture freezes

Fault at its main digital board. Short circuited component/s at it. Contact any service technician; or the authorized service center. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Pull up older posts. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ In most cases, the main board might have to be replaced. If so, a software [firmware] update too might be necessary.

Need the remote code for a phillips dvd player

These are the codes printed in the owners manual for your dvd/vcr player. If they do not work you will have to contact Emerson and ask them for help getting the code. The contact number should have come with the instructions for the remote. Just give them the model number of you remote and the units model number and they should be able to help you. I hope this information helps you with your problem. Switch the input selector on your TV to an appropriate external input channel (usually near channel 0).
Press a button on the TV’s original remote control that selects an external input channel until the DVD
recorder’s picture appears. Check your TV owner’s manual for details.

DVD is hook up and no picture on the TV.

You have to make sure that the RCA cables are properly connected to the TV. Check the TV/Mode if it's set to AV1 (Audio/Video1) or AV2. You may check the TV remote to set it to AV1 or AV2.

From the DVD, the cable should be connected to OUT. And on the TV...video and audio should be connected to IN.

TV picture flickers

If your DVD player is separate from your tv, you might have a loose cable plug or connection. Depending on the type of flicker you have, a vertical circuit loose connection would cause this. If you could connect it to a cable or antenna it might tell you where the problem is located. A faulty circuit in the DVD might cause this too. Stargazer
