I think you hit the nail on the head when you said if you have "free" AOL, the option to permanently change your font just isn't there. With Windows Vista, I can change the font for everything on the computer, but I tried this and it just took up too much space on my screen making things even more difficult to read.

Re: Changing the Font on Free AOL
I can't guarantee it works with Vista, but if you have a scroll mouse, you can try holding the Control key and scrolling the mouse up and down. It will change the font in your browser, if that's what you are trying to do.
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

it would actually depend on how you access/view your e-mails. if you are using AOL.COM, holding down the CTRL key and using the mouse scroll wheel up or down will increase or decrease the size of the fonts. Take note though that it will also affect all other web pages you will view. Another thing to check if the front settings on the browser program you are using either internet explorer, firefox, chrome . Check the internet options/browser settings and look through the content section and see if you will find an option to adjust the size even the font type settings. After doing so, clear temporary internet files and close then re-open your browser to make sure the changes made will reflect. if in case you are using AOL's software, check through its own settings/preferences for fonts.
Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner.
OK, go back to: http://help.aol.com/help/settings/#
sign in, then click on the "AOL A to Z tab", then click on the "help" tab. In the search box, type "change font size", then click on "how do I change my font size", then select "email" and you're on your way.
You can use Google to search AOL also. Just go to Google, type AOL followed by any question.
