Question about Vivitar Vivicam 5105s Digital Camera

1 Answer

Not Able to download pictures from Vivitar 5188 using Windows Me.

I have loaded the software from the CD and have attempted to connect the camera.

Initially I got a message indicating a missing driver USBNTMAP.SYS and have downloaded this but am not sure what needs to be done to real;y install this driver.

When I try to run Photoimpression 5.2 I am not seeing an additional input and I am getting a message MARSCAMC with the message Driver open fail.

Can some one please help me.

Ken

Consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer.
The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program, such as Picasa.

Hi all.

Cheapest and easiest way to get this working with your computer is to buy a SD drive ( only a couple of $$$ ). All you will need to do is take out the SD card from the camera, put it in the SD drive and then download your pictures from the SD.

Easy as!

I got it figured out kind of by accident. I decided to by a SD card, figuring that may work. when I plugged it in, a box came up say that it was working properly, but I still didn't get the pictures. I clicked something else in that box (I think it was advanced setting and they asked me if I would like to reconfigure the ports, so of course I said "yes". What do you know it made the SD card work and my camera worked also. I just had to follow a few easy directions that came up. That's it, Thanks, Gary
