Question about Onkyo TX-DS575 Receiver

2 Answers

No audio After years of using my onkyo receiver with no problems one day I turned it on and I got no audio.... I was afraid I disconnected something but nothing was wrong with my setup because I switched everything to my Sony receiver and everything sounds perfect.... I would like to get this receiver working again and I was told it might be a fuse..... but I only have found one fuse in the entire board and that fuse is fine...... Just for more information, everything seems like it is working fine it is just silent no static no feedback nothing.

Re: No audio

Cpu mpd720208 send comand -mute- all the time pin 42 AMUT. if you cut this wire, after receiver is on, saund appiar. this is not right, but this work. if you cut this wire in off condition, receiver dont on. i dont find the rison of this, but i think some input voltage for CPU is on the edge. or on-delay cicuits dont work properly.

My Onkyo TX-NR838 switches off when I turn the tv off. I can't switch the receiver back on for 2 days

sounds like a faulty cable or psu .... or some bad solders on the back of a scart socket if you use scart
if not its something to do with TV detection the TX-NR unit uses

Onkyo HT-RC360 The receiver has a clicking sound when powered on. then turns off

No! I'am afraid not, if you have checked your wires carefully and it checked, the audio output semiconductors will require a technician to remedy the problem.

My Onkyo tx-sr606 7.1 receiver turns off by itself

hi, when the unit shuts off by itself, it means that the protection circuity inside has been activated. it can be a problem with the receiver itself or it is just detecting something hooked up to it that can cause possible damage so it shuts off.

you would need to disconnect everything from the back and by itself, try to turn it on, see if it will stay on and then crank the volume way up to max. if it stays on, the receiver is ok and you then need to rehook your devices one by one starting with the speakers until you determine the one causing the receiver to shut off.

however, if the receiver shuts off and won't turn on even by itself, it means that the problem is internal and it either has to go back to your dealer for an exchange or it has to be sent to a repair center for servicing.

hope this helps a bit.. ^_^

the shorted spkr wires probably fried the putput transistors in that channel.  Do you know how to use a Fluke  test meter on diode test

Onkyo tx-sr602 as soon as i turn receiver on it flashes protect

Does it display any message like "Protect" or something similar? Do you hear a relay click on then off?

Did the amp just not power up one day or did it stop working while you were listening to it? Finally, do you have teenage kids who might have been listening to your receiver and would have "neglected" to tell you that after listening to their music it suddenly stopped working?

It could be an internal fuse but chances are its something that requires a technician to repair (like the output transistors).

Onkyo TX-SR605 conected to Mitsubishi DLP TV

What I think I did and how I fixed it!

All you have to do is to do a factory reset on everything, but I thing mostly on your 605, but I would do it on the TV as well. I think what had happened is after I set everything up for the first time, it worked great. As the days when on I started to play with all of the futures the 605 and the TV had to offer. I was turning them on and off to see what everything did. What I think I did was, I turned on something in the 605 that the TV did not know how to cope with. If I had to guess, I think it is the Lip-sink feature (Spelling?) in the 605.

Anyway disconnect everything, look in your manuals of the TV and the 605 to see how to do the factory reset on both. Then turn your TV on. After it does it’s start up for the first time (again), start connecting the 605.

It has been working great for me after I did this. Do not count on help from the people you bought it from or the people who made it. This stuff is so new they do not really know how to fix it.
