Setup Wizard won't appear

All the lights are on as they should be after connecting all the wires to the router/computer/modem, but when I get to the step where I enter 192.168.0.1 into the address bar the setup wizard will not appear. What can I do to get my router working? I've done this before and never had this problem.???? When I enter the address 192.168.0.50 I get a long list of Service vendors but not the installatio wizzard. The disk shows the same info as the manual no link to the wizzard. owsmith1@fuse.net

Your computer should already have an IP address and you should not have to type it in. It should be automatic if it is connected to the internet. Try and see if you can log on to the internet. If you can't, then try un-installing and reinstalling the software that came with the router and it should work then.

You need to change your ip into the same iprange manually set your ip to 192.168.0.25 for example and then try again. If you need instructions on how to set your own ip, drop me a comment with the add a comment button and include my nickname (ekse) on the message.

Routers are usually not OS dependable. Which means, yes it is. It is compatible. You need to go inside configuration and make sure your router is picking up IP address from your ISP. This is how to do it:

If you are connecting the router to a cable/DSL/satellite modem, please follow the steps below:
1. Place the router in an open and central location. Do not plug the power adapter into the router.
2. Turn the power off on your modem. If there is no on/off switch, then unplug the modem’s power adapter. Shut down
your computer.
3. Unplug the Ethernet cable (that connects your computer to your modem) from your computer and place it into the
WAN port on the router.
4. Plug an Ethernet cable into one of the four LAN ports on the router. Plug the other end into the Ethernet port on your
computer.
5. Turn on or plug in your modem. Wait for the modem to boot (about 30 seconds).
6. Plug the power adapter to the router and connect to an outlet or power strip. Wait about 30 seconds for the router
to boot.
7. Turn on your computer.
8. Verify the link lights on the router. The power light, WAN light, and the LAN light (the port that your computer is
plugged into) should be lit. If not, make sure your computer, modem, and router are powered on and verify the cable
connections are correct.

Now to configure router, do this:

To access the configuration utility, open a web-browser such as Internet Explorer and enter the IP address of the router (192.168.0.1). (no parenthesis)
Enter the user name (admin) and your password. Leave the password blank by default.

You may run the setup wizard to quickly setup your router. Click Setup Wizard to launch the wizard.
Click Launch Internet Connection Setup Wizard to begin.

Click Next to continue.
Create a new password and then click Next to continue.
Select your time zone from the drop-down menu and then click Next to continue.
Select the type of Internet connection you use and then click Next to continue.

Your connection is probably Dynamic, meaning your ISP is giving you IP address automatically and it changes. So, choose dynamic, and leave host name, mac address and everything else blank. Save it.

That should do it. You can also proceed to setup your wireless. Make sure you secure it also.

If any questions, let me know!

Good luck!

Modem router(quest gateway) works on one computer but won't connect to two other computers. was working on two ,and now only the one wired to it.

Place your wireless G router in a wide open and central location. Don't connect the power plug into the router, yet. Make sure your computer is turned off.
1. Step 2
Connect all the devices.

Find the Ethernet cable that connects your PC to the modem. Unplug the Ethernet cable from your PC and insert it into the wireless G router's WAN port. You should have an additional Ethernet cable that came with your router. Take this cable and plug one end into one of the LAN ports on the router. Then connect the other end to your PC's Ethernet port.

2. Step 3
Turn on your modem, router, and PC.

Plug the power plug adapter into the modem. Turn on the modem. It'll take approximately 30 seconds for the modem to boot up. Connect the power plug adapter to the router and the other end into a power strip or outlet. Like the modem, it'll take about 30 seconds for the router to boot. Turn on your PC.

3. Step 4
Verify lights are on for your devices.

Make sure the following lights are on for your router: power, WAN, and LAN light. If you don't see any of them lit, confirm these devices are turned on. Make sure the Ethernet cable connections are installed correctly.

4. Step 5
Install and configure software.

Use the setup wizard application to configure your Belkin wireless G router. Set up features, such as creating your password and setting up your time zone. Continue to follow the setup wizard so you can configure  other settings.

Dlink setup wizard problem

Are you trying to set up the router.
You can do it manually without the CD.
Make sure that your computer is able to go online through the modem.
If your computer is not able to go online through the modem then you will need to call ISP first.
If your computer is able to go online through the modem
then you need to connect the computer to the router and the modem to the router.
open the set up page of the router and change the settings of the router according to the ISP.
