Gas Dryer Problem

I have a Kirkland by whirlpool gas dryer model # SGDS800JQ1 and I think the burner is not working properly. My husband changed the igniter and the flame sensor. That did not resolve the issue. The dryer turns on and everything works but the flame only turns on for approximately 3 to 5 minutes, after this time the dryer gets hot and then it turns off. The igniter turns on for about 5 seconds but no flame is visible. The igniter keeps turning on every minute or so, sometimes we can smell gas. My husband checked the omes for both thermostats, the fuse and the coils they seem to be OK. He does not know what else to try. Please help asap. Thanks

Check to make sure the burner ignitor is not burned out. Check all the other parts you mentioned........ pull one wire off each part(one at a time) and check with with with an OHM meter.... should all be in the closed position.

Whirlpool gas dryer Model #WGD5530SQ0 not heating properly

If your dryer heats when you first turn it on and after a few minutes it does'nt. check the ignitor to see if it is glowing. It should glow bright then you will hear a click and the burner will light. If the ignitor glows bright but you hear a click but no flame and if you watch this for several minutes and this process continues of glow then glow goes out no flame, then you have a bad burner coil. There are 2 black solenoids sitting on top of gas valve. One of them is shorting out after it warms up. Replace both solenoids. You can usually get them as a kit from parts store.

first check to make sure the venting isn't blocked by lint. second, check the igniter, if it is orange in color you need to replace it, it should glow white.

I have a kirkland by whirlpool gas dryer that wont heat, any suggestions, all it seems to do is tumble

First, check the ignitor. If it is working properly it should glow noticeably. If the ignitor is working and the burner will not light, I would look at the gas valve coils. These small black electrical coils are right above the gas valves. These solenoids open the gas valves when energized. If faulty, the gas valves are not opened and the burner cannot light. Due to the difficulty in testing these solenoids, it is recommended that both (all) be replaced at once if any are suspected of being faulty. Hope this helped and best wishes.

Burner wont light

If you have replaced the igniter and the thermacouple. Your next item is the gas valve. This is not that hard to change out, but is probably the most expensive part on the dryer.
