Problem may be the PCB board (w/Sensor) for the Flipper Door. It has a tendency to become corroded due to condensation that can build up by the door. Maytag replacement part number is 11001182. Part is hard to find. I was able to get one after much searching. Within 3 days it was out of stock again.

To combat the condensation (and ICE build up on the rear main board), turn the fridge down to half and keep the front lights off as much as possible. You may want to play with the settings a little depending on the area of the country you are in (dry Arizona as opposed to wet Washington State) but you shouldn't have to go below half.

Even though the lights are flouresent, they still throw off a lot of heat which causes condensation. The fridge runs longer to combat the heat so the added moisture freezes in the back (where the cooling elements are) and the condensation builds up in the front where the sensor and heat source is. It's cool enough in front to hinder evaporation and because the fridge runs longer you don't get that defrost period (if you will) in the back that regular frost free refrigerators or freezers have, thus the ice build up. This will greatly reduce condensation but may not get rid of it all. The front door is not to well insulated. Hope this helps.

SkyBox second button will not dispense

If nothing happens, the switch behind the button must be broken, or something on the PCB that the button is mounted to is broken. But if lights blink, then the button is ok and the problem is with the motor or some sensor. I have a troubleshooting guide for the dispensing system (better than Maytag ever published), as I was directly involved in the design of this product. This does not cover the refridgeration system, as that was provided by our Chinese manufacturer. Please email me at: if anyone wants this guide.

Skybox won't dispense. Door lights on, but no button lights at al

check the unit out to see if its frozen up. there is also sensors that corrode on them due to condensation. if it is frozen just unplug it and let it thaw out.

3/4 buttons work

mine did the same thing. apparently, if the internal unit gets too cold, it freezes operation in some of the buttons. try turning up the temp to let it thaw, then try the button again. the downside is that when you turn down the temp again, you are likely going to face the same problem.

Skybox Flashing Lights

I had that problem too, in addition to a backwards cooling fan and the wrong thermostat. I needed to replace a sensor wire in the door, condensation had caused some rust on it.

TroJo, Try for Skybox parts. I ordered a part on Monday night and installed it on Wednesday night. The parts are not that hard to find. Appliance repair services can replace your compressor or add freon. Be sure you have plenty of ventilation behind your machine. Jonmon
