Warning - Thanks for the helpful info from Ross Levonis above.. but please note that to remove the pump.. you need to twist ANTI-clockwise .. not clockwise as stated in Ross's answer.. well for me here in New Zealand that was the case.. possibly in the northern hemisphere things are the reverse.. ha ha.. like the water circling down the plug hole the other way around.. :-)

It could be a blocked pump, it could be a faulty pump.
You can find the service manual at the following link and it will help find the exact cause of the fault. Download the smart drive service manual.

Sounds like your pump is blocked. **UNPLUG the machine**. lift or drag the machine to a spot where you can let the water dump out. The water comes out fast and makes a big mess. Tilt the machine back. On the front-right underside of the machine you will see the pump with the fan hanging down. Unplug the white plug and the earth cable from the back of the pump. You might notice that there is a white plastic clip that you can move to the side. Hold the clip out and twist the pump clockwise. At this point the pump will drop out and water will go everywhere. Try and take the pump out kinda fast so that the coil does not get too wet while the water is dropping out. you might find a blockage (coil, hair clip, underwire etc) sticking out from where the pump impeller sits. Pull out your blockage and check that the pump spins freely when you spin it by hand. If it does not spin freely you need a new pump.

Now, after you unblock your pump, you can put it back together the same way you took it off. Make sure the white plug is not wet before plugging it into the pump and make sure the pump coil is dry too! use a blowdryer to dry for a minute if unsure. When twisting the pump back in, the wires should be at the back of the machine and the earth cable is kinda close to the rotor (motor). Make sure the pump is sitting flat so the seal works too. That clip should click lock back into place to hold the pump from turning. The washer will not spin until all the water is out in case you are wondering. Hope this helps!

Check your exit hose spigot, it may be clogged. This is if your filter is all clean. There should be air for passage in the standpipe behind. Your hose should not fit airtight into the standpipe and neither too deep into it. Snaking out your standpipe would be good too.

It sounds like your machine has been programmed to automatically run through the various cycles continuously. Most likely in error.

Hi there
That fault is the pump blocked error (no change in water level).
i have a quick and easy way to solve this problem.

first turn the machine off then tilt the machine back and lean it on something(a chair or wall), look underneath, in the top right hand corner of the plastic outer boul you will see a small pump motor it has a fan on it spin this fan and if it is hard to turn that means there is somthing stuck in the drain pump keep turning the fan and try to free whatever is stuck in the pump, then try the machine on spin again all goin well the object in the pump should come out with the drain water(doing this will not harm the machine) if the object is still stuck you will need to get the water out of the machine (bailing or siphioning will work) and tilt the machine back again and take the wires off the pump and there should be a white tab on the boul holding the pump on pull this tab and twist the pump anticlockwise about a quarter turn(you will need a few towels or a boul or bucket to catch the water) and it should come off exposing the blockage.
Hope this solves your Problem.

My fisher and paykel eco washer spins weirdly and makes lots of noises

Noisy
If the user is complaining about noise, it may be in a number of different areas. Is the noise during
spin? Is it a banging sound? This would typically be the drain hose, inlet hoses, mains lead or
harness. If it is an out of balance noise, check that the machine is level and stable. Check the
bias spring and balance rings. Remove the inner bowl and check that its weight is within
specification (Refer Section 1.12).
If it is a 'clunk' that occurs up to 3 times per cycle, this would be a bowl check and is completely
normal. It occurs when SmartDrive is draining and 3/4 empty. This is a 'feature' and a noise that
cannot be reduced.
Other things to check are:
• Is SmartDrive level and on all four feet equally.
• Check the mains lead, inlet hoses and drain hose outside the wrapper, behind SmartDrive.
• Check the harness and drain hose inside is not banging on the wrapper during spin.
• Check the bias spring is fitted correctly.
• Check the 2 balance rings in the inner bowl contain water. Check the bowl weight.
• Check for noisy suspension rods.
