Epson cx4800 - will print in text mode but gives me a paper jam message in photo mode pape ris not jammed

I've have the same exact problem with my Epson R1800. Epson tech support tellls me it's a sensor and to try blowing compressed air into feed and exit area of the printer. I did that, but no go. ...I'm really dissapointed as the printer really hasn't been used that much, ...and it's too expensive to send back to Epson to reapair. An ink hog too with a set of cartridges running $140. Nozzle check, ...clean the heads, ...pump expensinve ink out to clear the nozzles, ...repeat, repeat, repeat. Epson support tells me it's a sensor in the printer. I tried air blasting the feed and output, but it didn't help. This $500 printer goes into the trash as it will be too expensive to ship and repair. This machine has amazing prints when it worked, but the ink useage and nozzle clogs are unacceptable, ...constantly pumping their expensive ink through the nozzles to clean them.
