Wii DDR mats

We got to mats for DDR. One is a pelican and the other came with the wii. we bought the pelican separate. On the box it says it's compatiable with a wii. Only the wii mat works. the pelican used to work and than the wii one didnt but then they switched and now the wii works and the pelican does not. the mats are in the correct player slots. player 1 and player 2. the remotes both work and u can control the feet movements for the pelican mat with the nunchuck. Any ideas whats wrong??? thanx!

I have the same problem, I use the same pads at school for recess. I have four pelican pads and none of them work!

Same thing here, It on DDR Hottest Party 2, it recognizes it as a gamecube controller, but none of the buttons respond.

Original pad works fine, second pad doesn't work at all - I've bought two versions of the second pad, neither worked. Both are listed as compatible with the Wii. Any ideas?

yep same here I was really upset especially because its say "compatible with wii" in BIG LETTERS on the front

Same here, both worked seperately, but when swapped, now one won't work and is recongnized as a gamecube controller.....

I have a dreamGEAR pad that doesn't work. I tried it by itself in port one. I powered the Wii console down and unplugged the power then plugged the pad in and powered up but still nothing. Trying to use it with DDR Hottest Party 2. The Konami pad works fine. I noticed that the pins on the dreamGEAR connector plug are on the opposite side than on the Konami connector plug.

I guess i have the same problem too, now. (Awww that is just ****ing great!)

I bought a second dance matt for ddr2, not Konami, tried ICON and tried INTEC and neither one would do anything on the Wii system.

I have 2 konami dance pads and both work but only when in slot #1 on the consol. Cannot play against one another. Called Nintendo and they seem to think that it may be a problem with the console and I need to send it in to be fixed at a cost of $82.50. They were nothing but polite and helpful, so try each pad individually to see if they work on their own in slot 1. If they do and then don't work in slots 2-4, then you very well have the same issue as me. Hope this helps.

I may be posting this a bit prematurely, but if you go to www.pdp.com, I believe you can get an adapter for the Wii for free. I know that the pad plugs directly into the Game Cube port, so I don't know what this will actually adapt until I install it (it's been about 10 days and I haven't got it yet).

Note: If you can't find where to get the adapter from the PDP website, go to your local Walmart, find the box, and there are stickers now on the box pointing to the website you need to go to. Note that there is a phone number, but it will do nothing other than tell you to go online.

Good luck to all. I would love to see a post confirming this Fixya.

Update: I received the adapter from Pelican today (about 2 weeks after request).  This does indeed solve the problem.  I hope that everyone else's problem is fixed with this solution.

Ddr in wii not working properly

You must have the DDR CD-Rom to play the game. Mats are sold separately without the disk to allow for multiplayer support. These units cannot be used by themselves without software.

Additional mats don't work!

You should be able to attach up to four dance pads. IF your brand of dance pad is the orange-box Pelican brand, you will have to ask for a free adapter dongle by visiting www.pdp.com. It will take about two weeks to receive, but that should solve the problem.

I think you can only get one free per email address/physical address. Find some friends to order more than one. Also, keep in mind that the Wii can only handle up to four inputs, including the Wiimotes. You may have to let a Wiimote "time out" for all four pads to work simultaneously.

Good luck!

Where do I plug in my Wii DDR mat?

On the top of the wii there is a hidden door that opens on the right hand side. open it and there are 4 game cube plug-ins. But make sure you have an x-box or game cube connector! For the X-box plug ins, the door is right behind the game cube plug ins!
