Screen was inadvertently torn by a flying pair of scissors, model is an Acer Aspire 6920G, brand new and rather pricey. Would a screen repair (HD 1080dp) be expensive? What is my best option for repair?

Carol this is a frequent problem with new netbooks,it seems when they leave the factory this is not taken into account.You should be able to manually configure the settings somewhere.Also certain types of wi-fi protocols are suseceptable to sever forms of interference(for instance in wi-fi Cybercafes) or even from consumer goods such as microwave ovens,try to configure the settings first.

My top is an acer aspire 6920g and it has a message that says bootmgr is compressed

1.Insert the Windows XP CD-ROM into the CD drive, and then restart the computer.
2.Click to select any options that are required to start the computer from the CD drive if you are prompted.
3.When the "Welcome to Setup" screen appears, press R to start the Recovery Console.
4.Press 1 (One) to select windows XP and then hit enter.
5.When you are prompted, type the Administrator password. If the administrator password is blank, just press ENTER.
6.At the command prompt, Type
compact /U C:\bootmgr
compact /U C:\ntldr

since you do not see any BIOS information, I suspect the motherboard has a problem. Very little you can do about that...

Acer 6920g had a cracked screen...ordered a new one..doesn't work

racist maybe? hah. just kidding. but you should check to see that the connecting part of the screen (where the screen connects to the "computer") and see if there was anything loose (due to shipping) or if there are any anomolies in the chinese screens as compared to the original korean one.
(also, i was wondering if you could PLEASE tell me how to remove the screen, i know there is the keyboard bezel, but how do i remove it?)

My acer aspire 6920g can't boot on, it's _ with the black screen.

Use the restore disc or windows installation cd or dvd to install windows into the computer or perform a repair installation if a windows already exists on the computer and the setup can find it.

It sounds like driver problem. You need to reinstall Windows.
