Smae red light issue, consumer is littered with this issue. Everyones (consumer best advise is to scrap the unit,as repair is expensive and short term, the boycott phills.Seems to be the same model just different screen sizes, model PF9631d/37,,the ones with ambi-lite seem to be particularly prone.

While watch my set, it will remain on for about an hour when it hasn't been watched that day, then it goes dead. I can't even turn the set off with the remote of my DirecTV control or the remote that goes with the set. The only way I can stop the red lite from flashing is to unplug the set, when I plug it back again after several minutes, the set will come on again but it will only stay on for about 15 or 20 minutes.

well sometimes we turn it on and its fine for hour and then when we are really into something it will go blank with red light flashing, or it will go small to the center and black and white with no sound , or it will have little red stars all over the screen, oh and my personal favorite when it just goes hay-wire and spazzes uncontrolably1 I have model #32pt81s127 37 inch phillips piece of $%@! Same issue just happened to me. Phillips LCD with ambilight just went dead. Red light is flashing but no picture. This TV is less then 2 years old. Please tell me this is covered under some sort of insurance plan. Otherwise, Phillips will be getting sued.

My Phillips 42PF7320/79 Flat Panel TV won't turn on, screen stays black but green pwr light is on, after a lil while the green light flashes a couple of times then goes off itself completely

This idea may be worth a try. Look at the buttons on your remote. If you see a button that is marked "TV" give that button a push and then give the "Power" button a push. Wait for a while! sometimes this takes a while to turn the TV on or off. You may have to do this a couple of times depending if the power was off or on when you started doing this. If you started with the set off, sometimes it takes a while for the set to turn on.

TV does not turn on? (Relay problem?)

The power supply could be failing intermittently. That's why it sometimes works and sometimes doesn't. Also, the relay could be erratic.

Philips universal remote codes

For the majority of phillips/magnavox universal remotes: Hold code search button down till red light satys on. Press the tv button and the red light should blink and stay lit. With the tv on, push the power button repeatedly until the tv turns off.(dont push the power button again after the tv turns off or it will go to the next code). Push the mute button to save the setting.

Phillips plasma

Five blinks is a severe hardware failure supplys not working. Viper is down. You have atleast a bad power supply board could have taken out your sustain boards. If you are good with a meter you can measure voltages and see if just your power supply is dead. If you have never handled a multimeter you will need a tech and a power supply is not cheap..Power supply is about a 600 dollar board.
