Htr shuts off after awhile and won't come back on till it's cooled down

It's totally electric w/thermostat. After it runs for up to 20 min it shuts off. The motor is extremely warm. After everything cools down, it repeats the cycle. Please help? I have an ikder Reddy Heater 50,000 BTU, it runs for about ten minutes and then starts to sputter. After it sputters a few times it kicks the reset out.

I had the same problem with my heater. It was a cracked fuel line. I replaced the rubber hoses. On mine there was a pick up hose and a feed hose. They were dry cracked. Works great now. Hope that helps you out.

Hi i have a ready heater 170T i cleaned it last year to help out our main heater in our barn for when its get way to cold for our main heater to keep up so i turn this on when i am back there for the day...

Based on your description of the problem ............The part where you say "wont relight till it cools down" is a sign that the motor may be getting hot, the internal sensor in the motor is shutting things down for safety reasons. To find out run the heater til it shuts down then remove the cover. Feel the motor. It should be room temp or slightly warm. If hot- replace the motor with 102001-30.

Other possibilities would be a defective thermostat or temperature sensor. Eliminate these possibilities first.

When Thermostat is satisfied and shuts down the furnace, the furnace fan will not shut off. It is supposed to continue to run but only for a short time. This one will not shut off at all.

Your thermostat has a feature for the fan AUTO or ON. If it is in the AUTO position and still won't shut down then I would check the Fan relay. Newer models have a control board with the relays built into them so the control board would be suspect. Older models use a Fan/limit. The limit has a probe in it. As the heater warms the bi-metal inside it twists around and the fan comes on at about 110f. When the thermostat is satisfied the burner shuts down but the fan still runs till the heater cools down the bi-metal cools off and shuts down that fan. These will hang up with age.

Ihave a Goodman GUS075-3 model. Turned the heat on for the first time this year. After abt 5 mins. running it started to smell like it was on fire, the breaker shut off. Now,the pilot keeps going out and...

I would suspect that your fan motor burned out. What I would suggest is wait about 1/2 hour with thermostat turned down to lowest setting where it is not trying to turn furnace on. I would then turn thermostat back up to call for heat and see what happens. Most electric motors have a thermal overload on them and if its on motor will not run until it cools back down. Even if this works I would recommend that you have motor replaced and clean blower. Hope this helps. Thanks

There is a sensor in the tube that is a safety feture. it is a snap disc it maybe faulty, it is reading that the tube is to hot and shutting down, it cools and works again, check snap disc and also they need pleanty of fresh air.

My Air Conditioner does not get cold after I turned it off and turned it back on. I have now turned the themostat off about 20 mins ago

Air conditioners need a few mins to stabilize (the fluid in the lines) after they are shut off in the middle of operation. The comperssor will normally time out for several mins after it shuts off (or you shut it ofF) preventing it from coming back on within that time. So if you turn it off, and then right back on, you can expect warm air for several mins untill it times out.

I believe your heater has a solid state relay to start the motor when the motor gets to speed it is supposed to shut off. It may be stuck in the on position.

sequence of operation is just like the monitor. combustion blower comes on to purge chamber of fumes. after the delay, the solenoid pump comes on and deposits fuel to the burner mat, within 20 sec the igniter comes on, incandesces and ignites the fuel if there is no flame, the flame rod is supposed to shut down heater and go into a lockout condition until shut off or unplugged to reset. check solenoid pump first. you already know the igniter works. check the fuel filter in the fuel sump might be clogged. check the fuel sump float valve, might be stuck, supposed to hang free in the sump with needle valve open. thermostat is digital just starts and shuts down the burner and solenoid pump.
