Question about Samsung Televison & Video

6 Answers

I have Samsung DLP TV 52",Model# HL-P5063W.I have it for four years .Few weeks ago started to make loud noise, the color changed to white and black .I ordered bran new color wheel and lamp. Following video instruction,I replaced the color wheel and the lamp step by step.It was very surprising that the old color wheel **** was completely smashed to small crystals. My work result was unsuccessful. The TV turned on but no picture, just black. No voice. I opened the back cover ,the two fans were working but the lamp was not on.No light from the lamp.I tried my two other lamp, again the same result.I think for some reason no power is coming to the lamp. Please help.

I checked up again the lamp, color wheel, the wires and fuses;it seems to me every thing is fine.I turned the power on.The 3 signals on the TV power knob are blinking (Lamp,Timer,Standby/Temp).What is this to mean? Thank you for your assistance.

If the color wheel was smashed to pieces, than that may have had caused additional damage inside your TV.

If audio was intermittent that is either a broken cable/bad connector, or the sound card is faulty.

If pictures color was wrong and you had stains and lights that was probably the broken color wheel.

The lamp has probably nothing to do with all this and was probably fine. The lamp was fine for sure if you have some kind of picture coming out from the TV before. If you want you can put back the old lamp.

Dear Sir/madam,

Replacing the pico fuse will not fix this problem.if it is blown it is because the convergence circuit is bad and needs a repair. replacing the pico fuse without fixing the problem might damage your power supply.if you can solder good and use a meter? L
Thanks Good Luck

Check the connection to the lamp to make sure it is giving power and picture to the lamp. You may have to re-solder the connection (if your good with electronics) or get it checked and fixed at a shop. You also might have a short that is giving it too much power that messed up the other lamp. If you take it to a shop, get that checked also to be sure.

Please check on the main board from where the bulb is getting power that track might be faulty.

the track must be getting cut some where.

and also there is a allignment thing that the new bulb should be fit exactly how the company has fitted it orignally.

wind the bulb little bit up side or down side and then check if it gets adjusted to the exact position it may work.

    thanks.

the fuse is located on the main power supply board of the tv.it looks like a mini tube light and made up of thin glass.and can be easily located on the main board and also will not be too costly if suppose to replace.

you can get the fuses at

    www.radioshack.com

    thanks.

Make sure that, obviously it's plugged in at both ends properly, but also that none of the pins are bent or broken.

First thing to look at is the color wheel this model uses--usually it will make a high pitched fan like sound but can make a grinding sound also.

If it slows down from the 12,000 or so RPM speed it will cause color issues.

HAVE GRINDING OR HIGH PITCHED SOUND?

Does it sound like thin grinding noise?
The color wheel is very common problem. Color wheel for this model is about $100 to $150 plus labor.

sounds like a the color wheel blown. Call a local tv repair shop. Some Samsung models carry two different color wheels for same model depending on chassis version which can be seen only when the back is removed.

Samsung HL-P5063W makes a whining sound and then goes off

The most common failure in the DLP that makes a whining sound would be the color wheel. They cost about $135 + labor because I wouldn't advise changing it by yourself.
