Hii
I think maybe you should install a driver for your Grahic Card.
It looks like your problem is having a driver installed for your Graphic Card whish is not the right one to have.
If you can provide me with your Laptop's veriosn/serie I will be more helpful.
Hope this works!

If I play any games not open

Hi,

Good day. In regards to your problem you can try this several steps for you to know why you cant play any games.

1. Before you install a game you need to make sure that your computer meets the Minimum Requirement for each game.

2. You can check if your pc has the latest or the recommended direct X version for all games required this one. The accepted direct x for most game is at least DirectX 9.0c

3. You can check you're direct x version by doing these steps
> go to Start
> click on run
> type in dxdiag and press OK
> it will open a screen that will tell u the directx version of your pc
Note: if you don't have at least a 9.0c version might as well download it from the net

4. If you're computer has the updated direct x you need to check you're video card
5. Base on my experience most of the games require this computer spec

AT least a Dual core processor 2.6ghz
1GB Ram
Nvidia 9200 or better

So you might also check this site to check if your pc can run a specific game :
www.canyourunit.com

Hope this help you a bit regarding your game issue for your pc. Thanks for using Fixya and have a great day.

While playing wow my screen froze up and now there's lines on my screen....it is not overclocked...is this something that I can fix or do I need to send it back to company

STRIPED SCREEN OF DEATH
Before it freezes it starts to pixel like crazy then it freezes with a striped screen,

Possible Reasons & Fixes:

* Review your Direct X services:
  1. Click Start, then click Run.
  2. In the Open box, type dxdiag, then click OK. 3. This will run the DirectX diagnosis tool.

Failing that check whether there may be a conflict with any of your devices by clicking on your control panel and checking for any exclamation marks against devices.

* Try upgrading the RAM, which is likely to be the cause for issue if everything shows normal in Dxdiag settings. [Note: High graphics games is likely to lead to overheating GPU]

* If you are new to this issue, try System Restore.

* Try clearing the temp files/cache/history

* Power supply need to be more than 500kv, cooling fans play a pivotal role
[Overheating : CPU or the GPU]

* Change your Screen Refresh Rate

Other Suggestions:
1.Download and Install the Latest VGA Driver Update
2.DirectX 9.0c Reinstall
3. Buy a New Power Supply
4. Buy a New Fan for Your Proccesor and Check Your VGA Drive Fan Also Clean up the whole CPU

My pny 8800 gts is not letting me play any games and frezzes my pc in only 10 secs , but i can still play Dvds and everything else

check to see if your directx is binding to your new card. do this by typing dxdiag into run and hit ok then do the test and see if they pass if not change refresh rate or some settings till the driver rewrites then check again should work. if it passes your games should work. if not call your tech support and ask them how to bind directx to driver.

Problem is the video signal is lost. Computer runs fine, but can't get the picture. Is it overheated or is it shot?

check you directx  binding by typing dxdiag into run then take the test if you pass then it might be taking to much power to run the card . if you did not pass change the refreash rate or other setting till the dirver rewrites this may change the directx binding as the driver rewrites

sounds like yo had the same Problems that I had with my 5200 geforce The install did not go well. what was happening was the direct x was binding to the old mother board graphics system and not the new card . to make it rebind just change the refresh rate in the nvidia icon in your task bar . disable the display adapter from device manager for the motherboard graphics .put the card in the slot change the monitor cord boot up check you direct x by typing in run dxdiag and test directx to be sure it is running with your card you can also see that from the about nvidia you must have the driver for the card installed to do all this.. hope I helped install the driver first then disable

your card may be pulling to much power check the wattage of the card you power supply should be about 20% higher that your card.also test you direct X by typing dxdiag in run and test it  if it passes it is most likely your power supply to small. if not change your refreash rate and see if the driver will bind to the directx and not to you onboard graphics system the below info is for another card but it may help you

If i open the game, the screen shows very big icons and no image

You are running a low budget onboard chip for graphics. This SiS chip is barely enough for running windows. In order to play any directx or openGL game decently, you will NEED to buy a dedicated graphicscard.

Look for an Ati or Nvidia with 256mb or higher.

DirectX9.0c capable graphics card

It's not about driver. There are card which do not support Dx9 like nVidia GeForce 4 MX500. Those cards can play only up to Dx8 games and there are cards like GeForce 4 Titanium 4200 which are not support fully Dx9. On them you can play Dx9 games, but without some features. Since you didn't give me a name of your card, solution is hard to say.
