Sansa Not Recognized: Try connecting it to another computer the back straight to the motherboard ths should be USB 2.0 and see if it will recognize it as sansa or Drive/removable drive. if it does then download the sansa update software and install it. Make sure you disconnect the sansa and connect it when asked. This will update your sansas firmware and add the Usb Mode. Make sure USB mode is MSC
Recovery Mode may also allow your computer to recognize the sansa
lock your sansa hold in the rec key on the left at the same time push the menu/power button this will take you to recovery mode then connect to the computer Start the update software when finished disconnect

Its a problem with your USB cord...you need to replace the cord.

Mine was a bit more FUBAR I guess. I have a Sansa e260. I had rockbox on it, went to switch back to the firmware. Uninstalled rockbox and on reboot... the e260 was refreshing the database and then came to a frozen green screen.

My e260 was already in MSC mode. I did the steps above but was still stuck.

The solution that worked was one posted by "Slaughter" on anythingbutipod.

The ultimate fix for all e2xx v1 problems - Format, enter recovery mode, downgrade firmware Link (you'll need to format the drive), reinstall newest firmware via newest Sansa Updater, reload tunes.

you dont need to format your sansa you just should go to your my computer then click on sansa icon then just drop your music into the music folder

Go to settings on your sansa and scroll down to USB Mode.
Change it to MSC.

u can also use the itunes riper to put videos on ur sansa cuz i did it to mine

is itr synced? Do you have all the software downloaded?
