Question about ASUS P4P800 Motherboard

1 Answer

Ethernet Card Ok, so I bought a Asus P4P800 motherboard. Got it installed just fine. Bought I can't get the Ethernet/Lan Card to work at all. I installed all the drivers from the Asus website, marvell website, and all the others I have read in some forums. But the closest I get to getting it to work is the bottom light turns on, and the top light blinks but I still can't get connected. Any suggestions?

I have used asus with very good luck. I dont think its the board, I think its your internet settings. Go to tools on top of the page and pick Internet options and go through the pages, go through the connection set up, then go thru the advanced section and make sure you have http without proxy. go to your lang setting and pick automatic or nothing at all. All of this is done at tools (Internet options)

Windows will not see them because you need to download the SATA drivers for the motherboard from the Asus site.

Download and install to a floppy or USB (advise the latter)
Install windows, and you will get a "press f6 if you want to install a raid device ..."
Press F6 and hopefully, windows will find the drivers, highlight the ones it wants.. the rest should be simple

Lan terminal not working

first check for all the drivers in the device manager.... if every thing is perfect in driver side, then check if the ethernet/ lan is enabled....
then check is the light in the ethernet adapter is lit, when you plug any ethenet cable in it... still if it is not working, then finally try to update the latest driver for the ethernet controller.... if nothing works, then buy an pci ethernet card and use it..... you can also buy external cards like usb to ethernet converter... even belkin manufactures usb to ethernet controller....

Sound card isue

This model has premium onboard sound. The driver available from ASUS is for this onboard sound capability. It does not have a "card" - if you are trying to install a sound card in the expansion slot, I would recommend taking it out.

You did not specify your OS. The latest ASUS sound driver is available here:

Choose OS
Click [+] next to audio
Download driver

Asus P5k ethernet slot on motherboard just stopp ed working

Try tis...
1) Re-installing windows will not fix the problem. Try re-installing the
Ethernet driver (LAN). This driver should be on ASUS install cd.

2) Sometimes ethernet will just stop working. Then you should just
purchase a new ethernet card. They are rather cheap. Check out
Newegg website. You may have to disable onboard Lan in Bios.

System do not reconize the PCI card

Does it ask for a driver to be installed? Or have you got the wireless version of the mobo that needs an ASUS WiFi-b add-on card with an omni-directional antenna?

Like on the previous version of the mainboard, the PCB contains five PCI slots and an exclusive WiFi slot, in its left part. By the way, when you install the original WLAN card from ASUS into this slot, the last PCI becomes unavailable. Now let’s examine the card, too.
wifi-s.jpg
The card supports the wireless networking protocol IEEE 802.11b, describing data-transfer rates up to 11Mb/s. Using the software that accompanies the card, you can use it in the Ad Hoc as well as in the Infrastructure mode, and the card can perform the functions of a programmable access point, providing connections to 31 clients. Thus, the owner of the WiFi-b kit can easily deploy wireless networks and connect to existing ones.

Lan card driver

Hi macubex,
In what manner did you attempt to install the lan driver?
Did you run the *.exe? Try a more direct method. First go to this Asus link. (Click on the link). http://support.asus.com/download/download.aspx?modelname=P4P800-E%20Deluxe&SLanguage=en-us
Look to the right & choose you're OS. (Win2003).
Click the + sign to the left of LAN. Create a folder on you're desktop. Download & save the file: (Marvell_v628.zip) into that folder. Uncompress the .zip file within the folder.
Next click the start button & slide up to & click on control panel.
Double left click on System icon. System Properties will open. Click on the hardware tab & than click on device manager button.
Scroll down to Network Adapters & click the + sign. There should be a yellow ! point. Right click once on the yellow ! point & slide up to & left click on update driver. Windows hardware wizard will open. Click in the circle, No, not at this time & click next. In the next window click in the circle Install from a list or specific location. Than click next. Remove the green check mark by clicking on it once, next to Search removable media.
Than click on the Browse button. Go to you're desktop & find the folder you downloaded & uncompressed the file Marvell_v628.zip.
All you need to do is click on the correct folder & watch the OK button. (It will high light a bit when you click on the correct folder), than click OK & the lan driver should install. Once the lad driver installs, close all windows & restart the system.
When windows finishes loading, load windows update service & check for LAN updates & install it. (All done).
If this fails to work there could be a problem with the Asus integrated (onboard) LAN controller.

Good Luck!
Please let me know if this has helped.

Mike
