Question about Brother FAX-8360P Plain Paper Laser
Recipients of outgoing faxes regularly complain that pages recd by them are too dark. Also, there is a vertical dark line in each page. (When I copy a page, I see the same vertical line. My suspicion is that it is coming from a toggle switch near the scanner bar)
Is there any way to reduce improve the quality of transmission ? Curiously, pages that are originally fairly light transmit better.
The manual is silent on this type of problem . Can any one help, please.
Lift the control panel up (the one with all the buttons) and you can see the surface of the scanner, a thin piece of glass going across the machine. carefully clean that and it may cure your problem (look for tippex, ink stains etc)

I suspect your scanner unit is going bad or it is extremely dirty.
Making a copy gets same result as when you send.
