Question about Microwave Ovens
When starting a cooking cycle, the cooling fan kicks in for 2-3 seconds and then cuts out. The fan is still turning ,but not at the high speed that you normally hear when a cooking cycle is on.
I would say the cooling fan is failing. It is very critical to protect the magnetron from overheating.

There should also be a "mini-manual" (tech sheet) hidden inside the unit behind the control panel or hidden on the left side behind the grille, which is very helpful when troubleshooting, testing, and locating components.

Tips for a great answer:
Hello Derrick Baker - Typically no fan should come on without starting the microwave. There is one exception! For an example, if the microwave becomes too hot from something that is cooking on the stove below the microwave, the fan will come on and will cycle off once the bottom of the microwaves cools back down. If the fan is turning on when the door is closed, more than likely, a door switch as failed. At this point, I recommend connecting with a certified technician to move forward accurately to assist with the repairs.
