When I open the door, the light, turntable and fan all turn on (I presume the microwaves too but can't confirm). When the door is closed, it does not do anything as it should. And, I can also set the controls to use it as normal.
SOURCE: no heat or turntable motion
This is usually caused by either a bad door switch or a loose door switch mount.
Even though a door switch clicks, it may still be bad inside. Its continuity must be checked.
Door switch or mount trouble can be caused by slamming the door or by opening the door while it's cooking without hitting the Stop pad first.
There are plastic mounts inside the microwave which hold the door switches and onto which the door hooks latch when you close the door.
The screws on these mounts may be loose. If they get too loose, the switches will not be activated properly.
Sometimes it's a broken tab on the switch holder, allowing the switch to rotate just out of position. Other times, it's a broken tab on the switch holder, allowing the switch to rotate just out of position. This tab can be hard to see, since it is under the bottom edge of the switch.

SOURCE: Fan runs when door is closed - no heat
This is normally 1 of the interlock door micro-switches not working.
SOURCE: Sharp Combination Oven R-953M -
If the turntable runs when you try to cook with the microwave portion, then the problem is either a bad relay on the control board (RY2, primary interlock relay) or something wrong in the high voltage section.
If a high voltage problem, it may be as simple as a loose connection on the magnetron terminal or a bad high voltage rectifier diode or as costly as a high voltage transformer or magnetron.
Most of the time the magnetron will have a 5-9 year warranty, and you would only have to pay labor charges to have it fixed. If you take it to the shop yourself, you can save quite a bit.
