Hi,

Here's the newest driver for your burner. Go to Control Panel, thenDevice Manager, then click on the + symbol next to disk drives, anddouble click on the TEAC device. Click the Driver tab and press UpdateDriver, then choose the 'Let me find the driver' option, and navigateto the folder where you unzipped the file to. Double click and Install.Reboot.

For burning, I would recommend Nero, Alcohol 120% or ImgBurn.

Good luck and Season's Greetings!

I just had this problem! I am definately not a computer person but have just spent hours looking on the internet for an answer...

Once I found it, I decided I needed some good karma to come my way and so I am back to one of the top Google results to post my findings.....

Simply follow the link below (you don't even have to download anything!) and follow the directions... Very easy and everything works perfectly!

There should be a small pin-hole on the face of the cd dvd player, shove a paper clip in the hole until it opens the player and ejects the disc.

Problem is that my DVD combo TEAC-DW-224E-A reads cds but not DVD kindly help

Download VLC (google it) for free, see if that plays the dvd. Most likely your player has an issue, VLC plays ANYTHING (pretty much!) without issue.

If that doesnt work then you'll have a problem with the actual drive.

When checking device manager is says the register configuration is imcomplete or damaged. How do I fix?

Backup all your important files.and emails

Try a Restore Point. Restore back past when the reg started error messages.

If unsucessful, sorry, means a complete reinstall/setup installation, but al least you will have saved your important docs, remebering to save to removable HD.

Toshiba dvd/cd rom when inserted cds it just blinks and the icon don't show its loaded

Have you tried to reseat the drive itself, when its off you should be able to take out the drive and put it back in, see if that helps.

Cdrom

Try this but be careful to find the exact key as not to do damage!

Start Registry Editor (Start, Run and type in regedit then click)

Find "UpperFilters" and "LowerFilters" (and "UpperFilters.bak" "LowerFilters.bak", if they exist) value under the following key in the registry, and delete it:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

Quit Registry Editor.

Reboot.

NOTE: You might need to reinstall any CD recording apps you have, if they start to not work completely, after doing this.
