Re: complete shut down

Hi, only thing thats worth trying is switch the pc on and keep pressing F8 a menu should appear select Safe Mode. and see if it works, if it dont, im afraid you will require a windows disk. if you do get it loaded in safe mode, post a message i will get you to try a few other things to fix the problem.. Blank screen

Check keyboard for 'F' keys which relate to screen Functions. Look for brightness UP or DOWN keys and if nothing else works hold down POWER button until it shuts down. Then push button and allow it to start up again. It will run through self-diagnostic testing and will ask if you want to run computer in Safe or Other Modes-pick Normal Mode.
Very often this will fix the problem.

I cant turn on my wireless with the button?

First check device manager and make sure its still properly installed, if the wireless button is working when it is turned off it does not appear in device manager. Next suggest shutting down the system pull battery and disconnect ac adapter to give it a power reset, then when the system boots back up check device manager again and test your wireless button. If you get a repeat problem and its still not showing in the device manager then you will want to try checking the wireless button wires to motherboard from inside, please have a technician do this. Then possibly replace the device.

Can't turn on wireless

Hi there.
Hold down Fn and hit F1 or F2, with some medion models the wireless activation is next to the power button.

Good luck and thanks for using Fixya!!!

P4 chit overheating

Hi again,

For some reason I lost you in the Live Session/Chat.

In any case, my other thoughts:
  • The Intel 865 motherboard will auto shut down if fan does not rotate or in your case no fan. Added to this would be the thermal protection under the CPU.
  • The data led continuously lighting up is because of the jumpers.
Other than the above, I firmly believe, the unit will run as expected soon as the HSF (heatsink and fan) are installed.

My compliments, with the 2gb ddr from Kingston memory, i think you have a fast machine there. Just add a decent 128 or 256 (or even a 512) video card and you are set with a gaming rig.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.

5 years old Medion computer not working

the shut down's were probably related to your current problem, the firmare on your hard disc will know when a system failure is immenant and shuts off; it's sounds as if your hard drive which has the operating system on it has failed and therefore giving the 'system loading error'.

If you are not computer savvy, then take to a repairer and tell them that you have a suspect hard drive failure and they should be able to replace and reinstall windows as long as you have the windows installation disc.

MD 97900 laptop Onboard wireless and shortcut key problem.

You have to reinstall the Operating System such as Windows XP again nad reinstall all drivers. Thats the only solution, or else you can try to Restore the PC to the Date before you had to fly away! Patrick

I think you're out of luck without the CD. The only option would be to borrow a windows cd or get another copy.
