Dry it with a Blower , clean with a wet Soap cloth gently and then use Vaccum cleaner. If it not works, then press all keys with both Hands, and then reboot PC.

Well, think about your cell phones.  Mix electronics with any liquid and they are usually toast. Remove the battery immediately and dry thoroughly.
The things that I have heard about that may occasionally work...

  • Use blow dryer on low heat.
  • Put in a ziploc bag (or any plastic) and put in the sun.  The heat will pull the moisture out and condense on inside of the bag.
  • I knew someone who put it in an oven on very low heat to allow it to evaporate very slowly.  Salt water is usually the kiss of death because of the resulting corrosion.
Try these at your own risk. The sooner you do this after it is wet the better your chances it may work.
Lastly, if you had an inexpensive keyboard OR laptop vinyl cover, your computer would withstand the spill.  If you are going to eat and drink around your laptop, it is so important to protect your investment with a computer keyboard cover (keyskin) and keep it safe from spills and germs. These keyskins hold up even with bleach and germicides used regularly.  They are made in the USA but ship internationally.   Visit the website http://www.keyskincover.com/ for more information on keyskin covers. Discounts are available.

Backspace, Enter and Exclamation keys are all stuck

Depending on whether the keys are physically stuck or if the computer is causing the issues, try cleaning it with some compressed air or a vacuum and try updating your drivers. You may need to replace the keyboard.

I have a Toshiba Satellite® M105-S3041 and my toddler spilled juice on the keyboard and now it won't turn on. When I plug it in, the battery charges, and the blue power light comes on, but the screen...

Most likely you are going to need a motherboard, depending on the model, under the keyboard is the palm rest assembly...most of these have many opening in them that will allow fluid to get directly to the motherboard and they do not do well with liquid spilled on them when they are energized. Below is the link to the service guide for that model. I usually get my mobos on Ebay, but there are other sellers to grab one from.

Spill soda on my laptop keyboard

It is likely the only problem is that the soda is causing the keys to stick. There is probably no damage to any other internal components. Usually, laptop keyboards have a metal-based frame/tray that will protect the internal components from minor spills.

If you want to get rid of the cracking sound, you'll need to purchase a replacement keyboard from the laptop manufacturer or another source such as eBay, and then remove the sticky keyboard and replace it with the newly purchased one.

Toshiba L355D-S7815 - Spilled Juice - Short Circuit

Flip the lid open and flip the laptop (opened) and set it on a towel or something. It might take a week or a bit more to dry out. But you might be ok once it does dry out.

Although the best thing to do is to take it apart. And use a safe cleaner for circuit boards like alcohol (not wood alcohol).

Since you supplied power while it was wet. You could have have done permanent damage to the intergrated circuits. But let's hope not.

Toshiba satellite m40 booting problem.

Hi! It appears that possibly your hrad drive isn't set properly in the caddy? with the laptop powered down and disconnected locate the hard drive cover pop out the two locating screws and carefully move the caddy/hard drive BEWARE as the drive has fragile pins at the opposite end where you opened, hopefully little sliding pressure should remove. Check the retaining screws around the caddy (You'll need a small torx/philips screw driver for this) if all tight replace gently.
If you are uncertain I would recommend a technician check it for you.
Good Luck!

Spilled juice on Toshiba Laptop keyboard; now keys do not type at all! is there a way to salvage it without having to buy new replacement

Dear v1ndic8d,

Spilling juice on your laptop is not always the end of your laptop. The best you thing you can do is to order a new keyboard. Go to eBay and enter the model of your laptop plus the word "keyboard" and purchase a new one. Make sure you read the description and the language, etc. Replacing the keyboard itself is not that complicated either. You may very well be able to do it yourself. Return to this site when ready and we'll help you replace it.

Good luck.
