Question about PC Desktops
1. if your computer is locked up.. try to force a shutdown by pressing the power botton on your tower and holding the bottom pressed until the computer powers down. wait 15 seconds then try to restart again.
if your monitor is the one that seems to be acting funny... try with another monitor or logging into your computer remotely.. if that works, change your monitor, if it doesnt you need to troubleshoot your problem as follows:
2. you may have a video card driver problem: try the following:
last known good configuration
to restart your computer in safe mode by following this;
if you can go into boot into safe mode you do have a video card problem and most likely related with the driver... go to your video card manufacturer and lookf for an updated driver.
3. if you can't boot into safemode.. or not boot at at all you may have a hardware problem and based on the original description of your problem you video card is the one to blame. replace and retest
post your findings, more details of what happened after you restart or more details of your problem
