Make sure that there is NO corrosion on the + and - terminals. If there is clean it with a swab dipped in Vinegar, then swab it dry with a dry one. Ther's nothing in the unit that you, yourself can repair unless you are an electronics whizz.

Go to; they are the source for this brand. They also have 'down loadable' 'user Manuals' but I'm not positive that they have one for the FT600, but you won't know unless you ask them.

Good luck. :)

I have a Night Shadow. All the lights come on but the IR doesn't see to be illuminating much when looking through the scope? Plus it clicks and flashes on occassion that I can see when looking through

You won't see it. IR isn't visible to the human eye. Try looking through it and then cover up the lights with your hand. If the lights are working, you'll notice the difference in lighting between covered and not covered.

I have an ATN MK238 that will power up, like the power LED will come on, but the screen will not power up when you look into the reticle. I checked the tube by unscrewing the front lens and it is a uniform...

Hello, it has a none functioning image intensifier tube, or shorted ccfl. All the electronic components are manufactured in Russia. Does this let you know what wrong with you ATN MK238 scope's cheap. I don't fix these ATN MK-258 anymore, it to hard to find parts. ATN is no help, they won't sell parts. It will have to be sent to ATN for repairs at approx. $200+ for repairs. I do have a couple of Russian image intensifier tubes, that work. The last MK238 I repaired, I had to build a ccfl (cold cathode flourscent Lamp) inverter, replace the coil and voltage multiplier, and fit in a confine space with insulation from electric arcing.

Here is infor for you. The ccfl can be purchased. They are companys that will make you a voltage multipliers. So, here is information: voltage to ccfl (6 volts) then the voltage goes in the inverter
to convert it switching DC voltage (5.5 volts). Then the coil (transformer) step it ot about 930 voltage to the voltage multiplier (which has four stages---the first stage with double the voltage to 1860 volt to the second stage which double it, then third stage which double it, then finally to fourth stage which doubles the third stage to about 15KV (hight voltage here, it will bit ya here, but no current--amps.) this will the cathode on iit, then light up the tube 18mm film that is coated--it will turn green)

Now, this the simplies way of tube operation, it more complex than that. The power supply for this Russian image inten. tube is sealed in dielectric jell, and the voltage multiplier is sealed in epoxy with the tube are none repairable.

There are quit a few other NV companies, that use Russian tubes and electronic. They cheap but functional. The bottom line here is the profit. Don't get me wrong here. There a few Russian compies that make some very good gen 2 tubes. If you can replace the tube will gen 2 tubes and powere supply. I hope this helps, Richard.

Black specks or chips are collecting on the optics inside of the scope. The scope won't hold zero. Scope is mounted on a 50 BMG.

Hey, the a good probility that it dust. I don't know how ATN seals it NV scopes. But the 50 will shake it to the extreme that it will loosen everything in the scope. Did ATN say it can be used on a BMG 50. How is your nut and screw working hey. stewbison

I would think that your ITT Mariner has a loose wire, bad solder joint, wigjt are news those wigit. It probably a loose wire. If it continues there is a good possiblity it with quick working. If you know someone that work on this thing, see what they can do. stewbison

Hello i dont necessarily have a problem with my itt 190. I am actually researchujng the nvg before i decide to purchase it. I know its a gen 3 but know little else. Iam under the impression it is a...

electronic components; resistor, capacitor, transistor, processor, switches, wire, all component have to meet or exceed those standards set by the Military. When these component come together to make ccfl, inverter, voltage multiplier, controller that they have to meet standards set by the US Military RD. Those standard are stiff. Wonder why they didn't throw the M16 or M4 in a junk pile. junk.
The image are made by ITT liton, Vard In, Photo-tonic, etc. These companies apply for military contracts in which there manufactured item will have to meet Military standards. This companies are American. Maybe with the exception Photo-tonic it has linage to Europe--Belgium.

Vard Inc made the 1st generation PVS2 Star Light Scope in 1962 which was first used in Vietnam successfully. There were other NV devise big and bulky. Back in the 50's the Army had rifle mount scope, it took three soldier to operate it. You couldn't sneak up on blind rat with it....

I used PVS2 in Vietnam and it save my *** a few times. As you know being in the military everything you carry has to be light.

When I was in Vietnam and southeast Asia for 34 months. One learned in a hurry to drop stuff that you really don't need, gas masked, sleeping mat, ratios, etc.etc... In Vietnam i carry 18 clips/50 round bagged of ammo for M2 carbine, three hand grenades, one ***** trap grenade. two ***** trap AK47 clips. I used indigenous pack, poncho line, indigenous poncho, five plastic bag of rice with beef and chicken bullion (from home). Tabasco sauce. four canteen of water, and one 3/4gal bag of water. Sometime I worn Vietnamese cloths, loose fitting black silky pants and linen shirt, Cooley hat, Uncle HO sandals. and sleep in the air, mud, on the ground, up against a tree or in a water fill bomb crater.

I carry what I needed, not what the Army want me carry. I got in a lot of trouble but I prevailed in those adversaries. I hope I answer all your questions. stewbison

It's like new and hardly used. It starts to come on and you can see the green in the lens, then it goes dark. still shows power is on. I've tried fresh batteries with the same results. Where can I get it...

Hello. you do know that NV devise are to be used during the black hours of the night. Any type of bright lights will burn out the multi-plate coating. It only take a few time and the image intensifier tube is gone. The generation 3 and 3+ image tubes have auto gating that is, if the sensor detects bright lights with shut down. Now, this help but bright light with even the generations of image tube. It will still destroy them.

To get repaired you can send it to ATN in California. Just for them to take a look and see what wrong will $100+ plus shipping both ways and the cost of parts that is, if they have the parts.

What they will try to do, is that they will take your 258 scope in for trade. Then have you up grade from this 6 year old NV scope to a new model. They could also tell you it's not repairable.

Now, I have repair a few of the MK ATN NV scopes, and all the image intensifier tubes are manufactured in Russia, and there is good possibility that the hole scope was manufactured there.

The Russian manufactures will just print the American Vendor name and logo on the scope, monocular, binocular that they manufacture. You send to me and I will take look at and try to find a new image tube for it. GB...stewbison

Lights come on but nothing shows its black.lens looks good

I have seen a few of this model and the tubes were gone in each case. Best way is to check if HV present at tube - get someone who knows what they are doing to take a look. If it is the tube, it will be expensive to repair. Unscrewing the lens may reveal that the inner surface of the tube has dark marks, also indicating possible tube damage.
