My flash drive does not work. No flash drive icon

The most likely solution to this problem is to go to the computer manufacturers website and find the drivers for your flash drive and install them.

After this, your flash drive should work fine.

How do you download music from your computer to a usb card?

If you're working with a USB flash drive, just insert the flash drive into the USB slot. You can open the flash drive in "My Computer" and "Copy and Paste" your files or you can open the folder where the files that you are wanting to transfer are located and "Drop and Drag" them to the flash drive.

The flash drive's drive letter isn't the same on all machines but is usually located after the optical(CD/DVD) drive.

Hope this helps.

Unrecognized Flash Drive

Check out if the USB ports are 1.1 or 2.0
Your computer may use 1.1 and not see the newer 2.0

Windows asking me to format my flash drive

Just format your flash drive! Before you start formatting your flash drive, transfer all data from your flash drive 'cause when you format your flash drive, it will erase all the data. After you have formatted the flash drive, then you can transfer back the data to your flash drive.

Laptop does not recognize the flash-drive after it's pluged in.

there are some reasons why it does not work.
1- You do not have correct drivers for the flash drive, and the computer will not recognize the product. simply update the driver for the flash drive and it will work. To do this go to the flash drive companies site and search for product driver updates
2- You have damaged your flash drive to the point where windows will not even recognize it. To prove this, plug multiple usb devices into the port and test if they work, and test the flash drive in different ports in your laptop and other PCs. If it is still not working, then it is faulty and will not work. Purchase a new one if this is the case

Hope This Helps

How do I get started using a USB flash drive and how do I set up a security system?

hey, heres something that would help u:  Copying files to a flash drive on a PC:
  1. Open My Computer and see which drives are shown. Most computers, for example, have a hard disk such as a C: drive and a few removable storage devices such as a floppy drive, a CD-ROM drive, and perhaps a zip drive.
  2. Insert the flash drive into the USB port and watch to see where the USB flash drive appears. Most will appear as removable storage, but some will instead appear as hard drives. Note the name Windows is using to refer to the flash drive ("Removable Disk (G:)," for example).
  3. Open My Documents or the location from which you want to transfer files to the flash drive. Select the files or folders you want to save to the flash drive by left-clicking on them. To select more than one, hold down the CTRL key while you click and select all of the files you wish to save.
  4. Right-click on the file(s) or folder(s) you selected, then select Send to, then select the name you saw appearing in My Computer for the flash drive ("Removable Disk (G:)," for example).
  5. When the copying is finished, do not immediately remove the flash drive from the USB port. Instead, left-click on the Remove Hardware icon toolbar.gif located in the System Tray. A window containing a list of the USB devices will appear. Left-click on the Safely Remove Mass Storage Device line that matches your flash drive (for example, Safely Remove Mass Storage Device - Drive(G:)).
  6. When you see the following message appear in the bottom left toolbar, it is, as it says, safe to remove the flash drive from the USB port; you may close the message or ignore it, as it will close itself automatically:
